A Bold Move by Hilton - 150 Spark Hotels to Ignite Indian Hospitality

Hilton, in partnership with Olive by Embassy, is launching 150 Spark by Hilton hotels across India, marking the brand's debut in Asia Pacific. This strategic move aims to redefine the premium economy segment, targeting India's rising middle class and dynamic hospitality market. With a focus on affordable yet consistent stays, the rollout leverages Hilton's global expertise and Embassy's local market insights, setting the stage for transformative growth in the region.

Strategic Expansion: Hilton Partners with Olive by Embassy

Global hospitality giant Hilton, through a licensing agreement with Olive by Embassy, is set to launch 150 Spark by Hilton hotels across India, marking the brand’s debut in Asia Pacific. The initiative will kick off in Southern India, focusing on Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, with room rates ranging between INR 4,000 and INR 6,000 per night depending on the market.

Strengthening South Asia Footprint

The partnership with Embassy Group, owners of Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park properties, underscores Hilton's ambitious growth strategy in South Asia. Alan Watts, President, Asia Pacific at Hilton, emphasized the brand's commitment to filling a gap in India’s hospitality market by offering affordable yet quality-driven premium economy stays, promising value and consistency across cities big and small.

Spark by Hilton: A Game-Changer for Indian Hospitality

Spark by Hilton, launched in 2023, is Hilton's fastest launch-to-open brand, catering to aspirational, value-conscious travelers. With 100 properties in various stages of development globally, its Indian rollout aims to redefine the premium economy segment with a conversion-friendly model adaptable to diverse site conditions, including brownfield, greenfield, and existing asset conversions.

Capitalizing on India’s Rising Middle-Class and Hospitality Growth

Kevin Jacobs, Hilton’s CFO and President of Global Development, highlighted the growth prospects tied to India’s expanding middle class and booming infrastructure investments. The partnership with Embassy Group leverages both Hilton’s global expertise and Embassy’s local market insights, aiming for rapid expansion in this high-potential market.

Local Expertise Driving Strategic Growth

Jitu Virwani, Chairman and MD of Embassy Group, and Kahraman Yigit, CEO of Olive by Embassy, echoed the transformative potential of Spark by Hilton in India. They emphasized the brand’s focus on delivering consistent, high-quality stays, bridging an unmet demand in the premium economy sector while offering investors a lucrative proposition.

Hilton’s Broader Asia Pacific Expansion

In addition to the Spark rollout, Hilton has expanded its portfolio in South Asia, debuting in Nepal with Hilton Kathmandu and opening properties such as DoubleTree by Hilton Whitefield and upcoming locations in Surat and Jabalpur, solidifying its presence in the region.
