Sephora was founded in France by Dominique Mandonnaud in 1970, it is a is a visionary beauty-retail concept unit. Sephora's unique, classic, and emerging brands across a broad product ranges include categories such as skincare, makeup, fragrance, body, and hair care. Sephora also has their own private label.
Sephora is not only the leading perfume and cosmetics store chain in France, but it also has a powerful beauty presence in several countries around the world.
It is owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, who are the world's leading luxury conglomerate , Sephora is mostly regarded as a beauty trailblazer, due to its unparalleled assortment of exclusive range of products and unbiased service from expert consultants along with an interactive shopping environment which is constantly innovating.
Sephora operates around 1,900 stores in 29 countries worldwide; they have an expanding base of over 200 stores across the Asia Pacific region including China, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Indonesia. They have an ever increasing amount of classic and emerging brands across a broad spectrum of products categories such as makeup, skincare , fragrance, body care, hair care along with the private labels of Sephora.
LVMH-owned firm Sephora Asia has over 3000 stores globally, they currently operate in twelve countries including Thailand, Malaysia, China, Australia, and Singapore. The company said about their adding New Zealand, Hong Kong and Korea as” a testament to its appetite for international beauty in the region”. Alia Gogi replaced Benjamin Vuchot as the Sephora Asia President.
Alia Gogi is a Physics graduate from King’s College London. She started her career with Hong Kong based Trading Controller Basic Grocery. Her journey in the cosmetics sector began in 2006, when she joined Watsons China as the Senior Trading Controller and she later became the Assistant Trading Director Cosmetics before she joined Sephora as the Senior Vice President of China region. In 2018, she became the Managing Director SEA and finally on 23 June, she was appointed as the President of Sephora Asia.
