American Worldwide Clothing and Accessories Retailer Gap Inc. Signs Licensing Deal With Dutch Fast Fashion Company Unlimited Footwear Group

Unlimited Footwear Group (UFG) has announced a new strategic licence agreement with Gap Inc. under which it will develop, manufacture, and sell Gap-branded footwear. The pact, arranged by IMG, encompasses the whole European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.

Each of the next footwear collections will reflect Gap's commitment to sustainably crafted, well-made shoes, with the first UFG-led collection expected for spring/summer 2023.

"By partnering with licensees like UFG, we're able to amplify our strong, internationally relevant brand and expand its access to consumers worldwide,"
Adrienne Gernand, managing director of international, global licencing, and wholesale at Gap Inc, said in a statement.

The agreement is part of Gap's 'partner to amplify' strategy, which was launched in 2020 and emphasises the group's commitment to collaborating with high-profile brands on product expansions. Previously formed collaborations as part of this aim contributed in the launch of Gap Home, the group's first foray into homeware.

"Through these licence agreements, we are able to expand our non-apparel categories and promote Gap as a lifestyle brand that caters to all phases of our consumers' lives,"
Gernand stated.

The Heritage Footwear Company, a branch of UFG, will manage Gap Footwear lines, with the goal of launching two collections per year at a mid-price point. The group's worldwide retail sales network, wholesale channels, and internet platforms will all be used to distribute the products.
