Atmosphere Core Announces Personnel and Strategic Management Transitions

A dynamic hospitality company, Atmosphere Core, has made significant announcements regarding the redeployment and appointment of new general managers as part of a strategic leadership reorganisation that occurred earlier this year. These initiatives are in line with the organization's overarching business strategy and a continuous dedication to fostering and advancing leadership potential. 

In August 2023, Rikard Nilsson, a native of Sweden, was designated Vice President for Culinary at Atmosphere Core. He oversees the culinary strategy for the organization's eight resorts and three brands. Rikard, who has over 35 years of experience in establishments such as world-class restaurants, culinary advisory committees, competitions, and culinary consulting, is a progressive, award-winning culinary expert.

Christopher Baker, who possesses more than 25 years of international experience, assumed the role of General Manager of OBLU SELECT Lobigili & OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi at Atmosphere Core in August 2023. Christopher ensures that the COLOURS OF OBLU brand experiences are brought to life at both resorts through his demonstrated expertise in upholding the highest performance standards and his comprehensive understanding of all business activity phases. 

This year, four significant internal initiatives were also executed at Atmosphere Core:

Philippe Claverotte is presently a vital member of the Special Task Force tasked with supervising forthcoming endeavours. He assumed this strategic corporate position subsequent to his tenure as the General Manager and Vice President of VARU By Atmosphere. According to Philippe's philosophy, it is not merely the case that giving precedes obtaining for hoteliers; rather, it is through giving that we obtain. Under his astute direction, VARU By Atmosphere has garnered numerous honours, including recognition as one of the preeminent resorts in the Maldives at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2023.

Mei P Pun, an individual of Malaysian origin, succeeded Philippe Claverotte as the General Manager of VARU By Atmosphere. Former general manager of Atmosphere Kanifushi, she possesses two decades of international experience. Under her direction, Atmosphere Kanifushi received numerous accolades, including the title of "Leading Family Resort in the Maldives" at WTA 2023. Mei, who is devoted to conservation and nature, considers herself privileged to spend her days in the company of the sea and dunes. As an empathic leader, she defines success as inspiring the very best in her team and is convinced that satisfied guests are invariably the result of satisfied colleagues.

Ram Bhoyroo assumes the role of general manager of Atmosphere Kanifushi after switching brands. Before this, he held the position of General Manager at OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi and OBLU SELECT Lobigili. Ram, a fervent leader with years of successful international experience and a native of Mauritius, considers magnanimous hospitality to be the epitome of service. Under his leadership, the OBLU SELECT Lobigili received the prestigious Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award 2023, which ranked it as the number one new resort globally.

In an effort to cultivate internal talent, Lisa Gerosa assumed the position of general manager at OBLU SELECT Sangeli, departing from her previous position at OBLU NATURE Helengeli. Lisa, a native of Italy, possesses over two decades of experience in the hospitality sector. Over the past nine years, she has occupied managerial roles with prominent multinational corporations, where she honed her skills in operations management, budgeting, and business analysis. As a result, she is well-positioned to accomplish both financial goals and provide exceptional client experiences. 

Senior Vice President of Operations at Atmosphere Core, Ashwin Handa, explains:

Moreover, we have recruited essential personnel. These modifications are in line with our overarching objective of strengthening the team, facilitating our plans for growth, attaining organisational objectives, and maintaining an exceptional level of service."
