Awesomeness on Wheels - Ferrari SP51, The 812 GTS-Inspired Roadster

A unique creation, Ferrari SP51 is a purebred roadster based on the 812 GTS chassis and tailored to a client's specifications. The one-of-a-kind automobile was designed for a committed Taiwanese client who is also one of our most prominent collectors.

The unique car was designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre under the guidance of Flavio Manzoni and inherited the 812 GTS's architecture, chassis, and engine. Muscular, undulating surfaces make the SP51's design both robust and visually beautiful. Its modern, flowing, and sensual forms are largely attributable to the wide usage of bare carbon fibre on the outside and inside. The two air vents are framed by the hood's ornamentation.

The bespoke automobile is newly painted with three layers of Rosso Passionale. The colour was designed just for the car and lends it a stunning, but dominating and authoritative aspect. The blue and white colour combination, inspired by a famous Ferrari 410 S from 1955, adds to this impression.

The wheels are exclusive to the vehicle and feature carbon-fiber wing forms on each spoke and a smart tone-on-tone diamond-cut finish on the front-facing section.

The back of the vehicle is arched, with the taillights integrated under the spoiler. Two carbon-fiber scoops immediately behind the cabin visually soften two flying buttresses. Between these two components is a transverse wing made of carbon fibre whose contour curves over the buttresses.

The consumer contributed to the design of the cabin. Its personalization was based on two smart ideas: the decision to use the same Rosso Passionale colour custom-created for the outside as the main colour for the Alcantara® trim, and the effective idea of extending the exterior livery down the length of the cabin. Its white and blue stripe appears on the central tunnel and the fascia between the two seats on the firewall, as well as on the steering wheel stitching, contributing to the roadster architecture-required sense of exterior and interior cohesion.

Blue Kvadrat® inserts with white cross-stitching adorn the door panels, lower dashboard section, and seat sides. The inside has shiny carbon-fiber trim that matches the Nero Momo Opaco highlights. Several white embroidered details enhance its dominating and fashionable appeal.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

The Special Projects programme strives to produce one-of-a-kind Ferraris (so-called "One-Offs") with a distinctive design built to the customer's requirements, who thus becomes the owner of a unique car. After determining the car's dimensions and forms, detailed design drawings and a style buck are prepared before manufacture of the new One-Off starts. Throughout the typical two-year length of the whole process, the client is directly involved in reviewing the design and verification phases. The result? Unique Ferrari with the Prancing Horse emblem and built to the same impeccable standards as other Maranello autos.
