URWERK UR-112
UR-112 Aggregat Aggregat Back to Black is a complicated steel and titanium body with an intricate construction.
The Top portion
It's steel bonnet is grooved and openworked. This reveals the splendour of this shining speed machine. This vertically opening lid provides access to the secondary power reserve and digital seconds indicators. Its primary titanium body has been satin-brushed, sandblasted, and beadblasted to create a field of functional microdots. The two wings of the UR-112 Aggregat Back to black are housed inside its central body. Each zone, location, and element have its own texture, finish, and language.
Special Project collection
The UR-112 Aggregat Back to Black is a member of the Special Project collection. This is a radical change from the initial notion of URWERK's wandering-hour indicator, with new volumes for the UR-112 Aggregat and its UR-13.01 movement.
"The idea for the 112 line originated in the United States. Felix and I were fortunate enough to find Mr. Ralph Lauren's outstanding automobile collection. The Bugatti Atlantic was one of the most uncommon vehicles. WOW! It was first sight love. Its flawless lines, its flowing spine, and its Art Déco characteristics. This Bugatti is an absolute marvel! My first designs of the UR-112 were inspired by a muse."
Martin Frei, URWERK Co-founder
On prisms, the UR-112 Aggregat Back to Black shows leaping hours and trailing minutes. They have been moved to the front of the watch and are visible in their massive sapphire crystal housings. An extra trailing indication indicates the precise minutes as the hours move in five-minute increments on one side and the minutes progress in five-minute increments on the other.
The driving and regulating components of the UR-13.01 calibre are housed in the case's core body. A huge barrel with a power reserve of 48 hours is combined with an automatic-winding rotor. By squeezing the two pushers on the sides of the watch, the cover revealing the power-reserve indication and the magnificent tiny seconds may be opened. A skeletonized silicon disc is joined to a red anodized aluminium bridge to form the latter.
UR-112 Aggregat Back to black is restricted to just 25 units. Each watch is priced at CHF 280,000 (about $306,000 USD) exclusive of VAT.
A transmission shaft protrudes from the centre. It is composed of titanium and secures the display module's connection to the shell's front panel. This connection is created by a fresh series of gears that drive the hours and minutes prisms through two bevel gears at an angle of 90 degrees. The Super-LumiNova-coated black metal prisms with grooved sides are fastened by planetary systems.
