Bang & Olufsen of Denmark Introduces its First NFT Drop: The DNA Collection

As the firm makes its first step into the Metaverse, Bang & Olufsen is producing an exclusive NFT collection: 'The DNA Collection.'

In order to make the transition from the physical to the digital realm, Bang & Olufsen has redefined how its products may appear, feel, and function by partnering with pioneering Web3 artists, such as Hackatao, Thomas Lin, and Shavonne Wong, to combine art and music into a collection of its own.

The DNA Collection of 1925 digital artefacts is centred on three Bang & Olufsen icons: the Beogram 4000 turntable, the Beoplay A9, and the Beolab 90 speakers. It also includes a brand-new idea for a digital product, The Beoverse Alpha, a boombox built for usage in the Metaverse.

In addition to the digital collectable, DNA NFT holders will get a 3D model of their NFT for usage in the Metaverse, as well as token-gated access to Bang & Olufsen-exclusive items and experiences. Community members will also have the opportunity to buy a limited-edition physical Beoplay A9 speaker featuring artwork from the collaborative artists.

Bang & Olufsen's SVP and Head of Business Development & Brand Collaboration Christoffer Poulsen exclaims, "We're eager to meet design and music enthusiasts in the Metaverse and to promote the fantastic creative culture that has formed in Web3." "Although we're new to Web3, we've repeatedly created goods in the real world that no one else could have imagined, several of which have become design classics and collector's items. Now, we're constructing our very first NFT collection on the same basis that made us unique in the first place.

The DNA collection includes 1925 NFTs, a reference to the year Bang & Olufsen was formed. Each NFT is crafted from a one-of-a-kind mix of materials, art, and music to honour the founders' tradition of going against the grain and pioneering and to pay respect to Web3's thriving creative culture.

On the basis of a predefined distribution of goods and product attributes, the DNA Collection NFTs will be created at random. Each NFT holder will then get an Art Vial and Music Vial containing an artwork and music track that will be disclosed when combining the Art and Music Vials with the DNA Collection NFT on Bang & Olufsen's minting site: https://dna.nft.bang-olufsen.com.

After the two Vials have been joined, NFT owners will get a 3D version of their NFT that is metaverse-ready.

Availability

The DNA Collection will be available for purchase on November 17, 2022 at Bang & Olufsen's minting site https://dna.nft.bang-olufsen.com using an Ethereum-compatible cryptocurrency wallet, such as MetaMask or Coinbase.
