Schaffhausen, Switzerland based Luxury Watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. has debuted the minimalistic and mind-bending Endeavour Centre Seconds Vantablack.
The watch's blued seconds hand indicates a double hairspring powers the HMC 200 automated manufacturing movement contained inside. This double hairspring is comprised of two identical balancing springs that oscillate in opposing directions to neutralise any external influence on the escapement.
The centre seconds represent the purest essence of time. The centre hand travels across the dial to remind the wearer that time is flying. The calibre HMC 200 has a huge, engraved oscillating weight and a power reserve of at least three days, and is adorned with the renowned Moser double stripes. This latest addition to the core range of Endeavour watches has a black leather band.
The dial of the watch is comprised of Vantablack®, the darkest man-made material ever created.
It consists of millions of carbon nanotubes that absorb 99.965 percent of light rays. By minimising light reflection, the dial creates the appearance of a black hole. Applying hour markers to Vantablack® is very difficult, thus the hour markers on this watch are completed in a contrasting frosted silver underneath the dial.
