Bengaluru Organises India International Travel Mart

Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions, the foremost travel-media company in India, has organised the 'India International Travel Mart' (IITM) in Bengaluru from July 28-30, 2023 at the Tripura Vasini Hall, Palace Grounds.

Shri. HK Patil, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism, Parliament Affairs and Law, Govt. of Karnataka, inaugurated the travel mart in the presence of Smt. Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Punjab, Shri. Anil Kumar Sahu, IFS, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri. Nanda Kishore, IFS, Managing Director

Shri HK Patil, the Honourable Minister for Tourism, Parliamentary Affairs, and Law for the Government of Karnataka, stated at the Inauguration of 'India International Travel Mart' (IITM), which facilitated interaction between the tourism industry and corporate buyers, customers, and travel traders, that the platform presented an opportunity to promote Karnataka as a premier travel destination.

He went on to say, "Thursday marked a significant milestone with the first meeting of the empowered committee of tourism, where investment proposals totaling INR 300 billion were approved. This creates employment opportunities for the underprivileged.IITM is the preeminent trade show in India that combines together the travel, tourism, hospitality, and leisure industries, as well as other affiliated industries. It aims to connect the industry face-to-face with the travel industry, corporate clients, and end-users.

Participants included travel agents and tour operators, DMC, hotels and resorts, national tourism agencies, technology platforms, and online travel portals, among others.

It is a moment of pride for Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions as it celebrates twenty-three years of providing the travel industry and discerning customers with business opportunities.

With over 400 exhibitors from various travel-trade organisations and tourism boards from 20 Indian states and 15 international destinations, IITM displayed a wide range of categories, including pilgrimages, exploits, culture and heritage, beaches, Wildlife, and hill-stations, among others. The event provided a variety of vacation options, from pursuing the One Horned Indian Rhinoceros to arid festivals in Rajasthan to UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Karnataka. The display of a variety of diverse and thrilling vacation spots added significant value to the vacation-planning efforts.

This event promoted tourist destinations in Karnataka by showcasing archaeology, culture, and heritage related to the tourism industry. Promotion of the upcoming Mysuru Dasara Festival was given a significant boost by the event.

Participants from over 15 nations, including Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Dubai, Turkey, Singapore, Bhutan, Indonesia, and the Maldives, among others, represented the international audience.
