Business jets and luxury yachts gain more prominence due to the pandemic

The virus-imposed shutdown has severely affected the commercial airlines and cruise lines, but it has opened a new avenue for the luxury yacht industry and private jet industry. The area of personal jets is an important part of the business that is witnessing an incredible rise in demand. Being supported by the rich network of the HNI's, NRI's, and corporates, the interest for personal jets has been prospering when the general business has been overwhelmed by the frenzy of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important to note that although the domestic flights have resumed to operate, a strategic rise in the number of enquiries for private jets is being noticed.

From Ambani to Mittal, every ultra-rich Indian is considering to travel more frequently by private jets and attend meetings in Yachts. This will be an interesting turning point for the luxury yacht and private jet sectors. Have a look at the private jets and luxury yachts owned by the business tycoons of India.

1) Amevi owned by Laxmi Mittal

This is the personal motor yacht owned by the British-Indian steel magnet Lakshmi Mittal. This was built by Oceanco shipyard in Netherlands. It is 262.47 feet in length and weighs 2310 tons.

In 2014, this steel magnet was spotted unwinding on the Greek island of Mykonos, dressed casually in a white T-shirt and shorts. A newspaper report hypothesized that while Mittal relaxed on the seashore close by different vacationers, his 262-feet-in length yacht Amevi was parked in the waters close by. A few amenities onboard are: Sun decks, a warmed swimming pool, a film, an exercise center, a massage room, a hairdressing salon and a one of a kind, stabilized pool table to give some examples.

2) Boeing Business Jet of Mukesh Ambani

It serves as an essential mix between a boardroom and a flying hotel. It is a 1004 sq. ft plane with a full-fledged private bedroom suite and an exclusive office. This was gifted to him by his wife on his 44th birthday.

3) Sunrays of Ravi Ruia

As delivered by the captain of the yacht, it is “the ultimate guest and owner’s yacht”. Sunrays is a mega yacht by Oceanco. It is worth US$100 million. The large upper deck has the owner’s suite and a VIP suite adjacent to it. A fold-down sea balcony is attached to each suite. There is a large dining room that can be converted into a full-fledged video-conferencing room and just adjacent to it there is a library.

4) Cessna Citation of Kumara Mangalam Birla

The Cessna Citation family is the business jet line of Cessna. They form the world’s largest business jet fleet. The Kumara Birla owned Cessna Citation is a private jet with utmost luxury. The jet has luxury cabin interiors along with pilot-friendly flight decks which has high-tech design.

5) Ratan Tata’s Dassault Falcon 2000

The French-based Dassault Falcon 2000 is a member of Dassault Aviation’s Falcon business jet line. It has a top speed of 880 km/hr., and it is worth $29.95 million.
