Central Group Purchases Globus At $1bn In A Joint Venture With Signa

Swiss Luxury Departmental Store, Globus has been bought in a joint partnership by Austria’s Signa and Central Group along with further real estate assets.

This expansion by Central Group includes a luxury hotel and top Swiss properties as part of the value deal.

Apart from Globus, the companies jointly pre-own businesses across Germany, Italy and Denmark namely, KaDeWe Group, Rinascente and Illum respectively.

Vittorio Radice, CEO of Central Group Europe believes that investing in Globus cae organically considering its immense local presence as well as global recognition, making it the most profitable choice of all.

The two companies are to hold 50% stake each through this newfound partnership.

This deal was struck after MGB, who previously owned Globus, announced its plans to sell the franchise. This came about after online retailers started getting a higher market share compared to brick and mortar shops across the world.
