As grand and exciting as weddings seem to be in Bollywood movies, the real-life scenario brings in much more attention not just from the masses but from media houses, brands and sometimes even global channels.

Today we are looking at some of the most exclusive celebrity weddings in the recent past that completely stunned everyone with their sheer exuberance, grandeur and pure magnificence, in true Bollywood style.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Italian Bonanza

After months of unending speculation, this Bollywood duo tied the knot in 2018 and dropped the bomb with the most awe-striking wedding pictures on Instagram. A major part of their wedding ceremonies were conducted in the gorgeous venue Lake Como at the pristine Casa Diva Resort where the festivities began with the Mehendi and Sangeet functions.

They duo paired matching Sabyasachi outfits in blush pink with a red shawl to go with it for their Mehendi and Sangeet. This was followed by the main wedding event where they had a Konkani style and a Sindhi style wedding.

For the Konkani wedding, Deepika chose to wear a beautiful Mangalorean red and gold Kanjeevaram saree with real zari work by the House of Angadi and adorned a lovely Sabyasachi veil along with it. She paired it up with heavy Indian temple jewelry which added to the aesthetic of the outfit.

For the Sindhi wedding, the duo yet again chose a lovely custom Sabyasachi wedding couture. The outfits were monochrome and matched each other with hues of red and golden. The jewelry again was by Sabyasachi jewelers and made for the most perfect Indian bridal look.

The couple also hosted a reception and post-wedding party for the rest of their friends and family in Bangalore and Mumbai. For the Bangalore reception, Deepika adorned a beautiful golden silk saree from the House of Angadi which was gifted to her by her mom. She paired this with heavy emerald jewelry which was also what Ranveer wore, looking regal in a black and gold sherwani suit by Sabyasachi.

For the post-wedding party, the couple went quite experimental with their looks. While Deepika chose to go with a Frida Kahlo inspired hairdo and a floral couture gown by Sabyasachi, Ranveer teamed up in a black floral jacket suit by the same designer.

Lastly, for the Mumbai reception, the duo opted for a look right out of royalty. Deepika was seen in a white and golden gorgeous chikankari saree by designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla that was hand embroidered with Swarovski crystals and gold zardozi. Ranveer Singh chose a regal Rohit Bal outfit that complimented his wife’s outfit perfectly. This Bollywood wedding was surely an affair to remember!

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s Picturesque Tuscany Wedding

There could not have been a more perfect ending to 2017 than with the news of this power couple’s wedding affair. Set in the world’s second most expensive location, the duo tied the knot in an 800 year old boutique property at the Borgo Finocchieto.

While one would have assumed that the wedding outfits and celebrations would be extremely grand and affluent, this celebrity duo decided to keep it relatively simple and let their strong bond do the talking.

For the mehendi function, Anushka chose a gorgeous Sabyasachi number pairing a beautiful floral blouse with an orange and pink embellished skirt while keeping the hair and makeup natural and simple.

Followed by the engagement ceremony where Anushka was seen wearing a regal maroon velvet saree designed by Sabyasachi paired with diamond jewelry, heavy smokey eye and neutral lips.

For the second reception held in Delhi, the couple yet again chose to wear Sabyasachi outfits where Virat adorned a black and beige sherwani suit with a royal red shawl whereas Anushka kept it traditional in a Red saree with gold zari work, heavy diamond cut jhumkas, choker and bangles with a smokey eye and coral lip.

For the big day, the power couple made for the perfect minimal wedding looks, where Anushka wore a beautiful blush pink Sabyasachi lehenga with simple diamond jewelry, a fresh and dewy face with barely any makeup and Virat opted for a white and gold sherwani suit with a off-white Sabyasachi shawl to go with it.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Regal Palace Wedding

If there is one wedding that caught the masses, press and global media attention with its grand scale and visual appeal it would have to be the Priyanka-Nick wedding affair. Conducted in the alluring Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur, this celebrity wedding is surely one to go down in history for many reasons.

The events were held across a week with a Hindu and Christian wedding ceremony, Mehendi and Sangeet ceremony followed by a reception which from the looks of it, was one party after another.

The wedding festivities began in true Indian style with the Mehendi function with all their friends and family. For this ceremony, Priyanka opted for a bright and colorful organdy sherwani paired with heirloom jewelry by Saboo and a beautiful gajra to her bun. In perfect tandem to a bright colored outfit, Nick went for a minimal aqua straight cut sherwani kurta with sequins embroidered all over it by Khosla Jani as well.

The Sangeet ceremony was conducted later in the same day where the bride chose to wear a heavily embellished silver and golden saree with minimal jewelry while Nick wore a navy blue sherwani with silk threads by Khosla Jani.

For the Hindu wedding, Priyanka stuck to her roots by wearing a Sabyasachi hand-embroidered custom made red lehenga with French silk knots and crystals to add that extra bling. The jewelry was exquisite with uncut diamonds, Japanese pearls set in 22k carat gold and lots of emeralds. Nick on the other hand opted for a gold quilted silk sherwani with a chikankari dupatta and a chanderi tissue safa with diamond necklaces and a pair of Louboutin shoes.

For the Christian wedding, Priyanka’s outfit was exemplary made by Ralph Lauren and instantly made headlines all over the world. She wore a high-neck, long sleeve lace dress with floral motifs and a 75-foot long tulle veil paired up with Christian Louboutin heels and diamond earrings. The outfit was all the more special because of the details that went into designing it. The words ‘Hope’, ‘Family, ‘Compassion’ and ‘Love’ were sewn into it along with the Hindi mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaay’. This celebrity wedding is truly one that can never be forgotten!
