Dongjia recently announced its collaboration with Japan Mastery Collection (JMC) to introduce the works of Japanese artisans to China and vice-versa.
This deal was struck during the China International Import Expo and Dongjia is all prepared to become the platform that caters to online as well as offline aspects of craftsmanship.
For the first time ever Dongjia featured a booth at CIIE, that showcased work by traditional Chinese artisans with a range of beautifully designed porcelain bowls and carved Chinese seals.
Japan Mastery Collection (JMC) is a new brand under the name of e-commerce company Marubeni that has been in the business for over 160 years and has spread its services across nearly 67 countries and other parts of the world.
JMC is to feature a Chinese website for those customers who may be interested in looking at or purchasing Japanese craft items.
President of Dongjia, Meng Wenbo explains how the e-commerce platform is going to cater to the needs of both online and offline clients. Dongjia has planned to open a special section on their app that will be specifically designed to present the work of Japanese artists.
For offline sales, JMC is going to feature products by Chinese artisans at their stores in the Tokyo Haneda Airport along with giving these products an offline platform under commercial facilities like Yoyuan Garden or Fosun.
Dongjia is also looking forward to an international collaboration with Belgium’s International Gemological Institute on various segments such as jewelry education, training, consultation, identification of gems and much more.
This will be a big leap forward in the world of craftsmanship, putting the works of local artisans on the global map.
