Tastes of China

In celebration of the new year, San:Qi at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, in collaboration with the supremely talented Chef Lin Lin Yang, has created a stellar gastronomic journey that transports guests from the bustling streets of Hong Kong to the surreal skyline of Shanghai, all within the confines of a single momentous feast.

Diners begin their meal with a variety of enticing salads, such as Sichuan Spicy Dry Lamb with Walnuts and Sesame Seeds and the more classic Qian long Chinese Cabbage. Gan Lian Cai Fried Rice and Wok-fried Chicken in yellow bean sauce are made to order, while a Steam Lobster with Glass Noodles Golden Garlic sauce and braised King Prawn give an additional ounce or two of flare to this exquisite menu option.

This special Lunar New Year menu is available for lunch and supper at the award-winning restaurant San:Qi between the 21st of January and the 11th of February, 2023.

Traditional New Year's Eve Lion Dances

The Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai will excitedly greet the Year of the Rabbit by reviving the lion shows. Beginning with the dinner service on the 21st and continuing through the 22nd of January, energetic lion dance performers trained in the renowned Yau Kung Moon discipline will weave through the hotel's courtyard, march down the hotel's tree-lined front drive, dance around the hotel's restaurant, and then make their way to the hotel's entrance.

The lions will perform feats of strength, elegance, and speed to harvest lettuce, a sign of prosperity and good fortune, and distribute blessings of good fortune and luck to the audience.

The Lunar New Year, which is widely celebrated in South-East Asia and the Far East, is particularly auspicious for families, for whom sharing a celebratory dinner is an age-old custom.

"At Four Seasons Mumbai, we honour the sense of warmth and community that is so emblematic of this occasion," says the hotel's general manager, Sunil Narang. "After two years of successful Lunar New Year festivities, we look forward to welcome you back to San:Qi to enjoy a wonderful feast and an abundance of adventures with your family."
