For the most incredible getaway in the serene paradise of Costa Rica, the newly unveiled custom-built Casa Las Olas residence at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo offers the ultimate in privacy and seclusion, yet it’s just minutes away from the amenities and offerings at the Five-Star Resort.
With 6,360 square feet (590 square metres) of air-conditioned living space and six bedrooms, Casa Las Olas can accommodate a multi-generational family or groups of friends vacationing together. The excellent holiday house for individuals who prefer community gathering places, Casa Las Olas offers a big room, chef’s kitchen, huge outdoor entertaining area and beautiful 150-foot (45.72 metre) swimming pool overlooking the bay. Appealing to individuals with a keen eye for contemporary design, this property has multiple Instagram-worthy aspects, from its unusual setting to its many awe-inspiring interior design components.
“The new Casa Las Olas is an excellent addition to our portfolio of Private Retreats,” says Ian-Robert Ciappara, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica. “Not only is it the biggest property we have to offer, but it is also the most aesthetically appealing, with exceptional interior design. It’s definitely a great experience for visitors to make this unusual apartment their home for many days of vacation, or a longer stay. With its incomparable peninsula position, vistas, architecture and style, there's absolutely nothing quite like it.”
From the minute one reaches the property, perched on a cliffside on the beautiful Northwest coast and at the extremity of the peninsula, Casa Las Olas, built by Jaime Rouillon Architecture, is positioned along a setback, curving gated road. The majestic doorway sets the tone for a wonderful Costa Rican retreat. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a verdant courtyard with Costa Rican native flora, tastefully planted, offering a tropical welcome to one’s pura vida holiday. This lovely garden in the midst of the residence has plumeria trees, heliconia plants, spider lilies and other exotic greenery. Exposed stucco walls and a majestic staircase with wrought iron balusters ascend to the second story. The home’s architecture is highlighted by a huge, thin canopy roof overlay, dramatically stretching over the front and rear entryways, offering both shade and a visually spectacular aesthetic element. With 180-degree ocean and bay views from many of the viewing points, this contemporary bi-level property blends the finest of indoor and outdoor living.
Two of the six bedrooms are master suites, located on opposing ends of the property and facing the awe-inspiring Pacific Ocean and rocky terrain. The principal bathrooms contain freestanding oval tubs with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake, as well as indoor and outdoor showers. There is a third standard room with king beds, two standard rooms with double beds, and a unique children's bunk room with four double beds and two twin beds that can accommodate up to six visitors.
Discover the great room and adjacent chef's kitchen, both with floor-to-ceiling windows and ocean views, beyond the tropical courtyard paradise. With double ovens, double dishwashers, and more, the stainless steel GE Monogram appliances make entertaining a breeze, allowing the private chef to quietly cook a gourmet meal behind closed kitchen doors. The primary indoor meeting spot, the dining table, can accommodate up to sixteen people. Cloud-like lighting fixtures seem to hang in the sky, dangling from the 15-foot (4.6 metre) ceiling and emphasising the airy, open floor arrangement. Molo Design's cloud pendants are airy honeycomb shades lighted from inside by energy-efficient LED light. When dimmed, they create a stormy ambiance, adding a distinct ambience to the room, yet at full brightness, they provide a gentle, sunny ambient light.
The workout area at Casa Las Olas is fully equipped with an elliptical machine, stationary spin bicycle, weight bench, and free weights, much to the delight of fitness aficionados. The façade contains a near-Olympic-sized, rectangular concrete pool with an infinity edge that is supposed to protrude dramatically over the lush vegetation and sea, providing a remarkable architectural focal point. The outside living space has a sunken sitting area for up to eight people with a shade canopy, an enormous deck, and an outdoor kitchen with a grill, a cooler, and easy access to the main kitchen.
Guests at Casa Las Olas have access to the Prieta Bay Beach Club, a members-only full-service club with a restaurant, bar, and other amenities directly on the picturesque bay. Prieta Bay is the ideal site for a surf instruction, snorkelling in the calm seas, and a relaxing supper in a lovely setting with attentive, individualised service. In addition, Casa Las Olas visitors enjoy the following:
Roundtrip airport transportation for the group
A dedicated butler is available during their stay.
