Pink Gold Master Control Chronograph Calendar
For over 30 years, Jaeger-LeCoultre's Master Control series has wowed timepiece fans with its classic good looks, technical brilliance, and fresh takes on traditional watchmaking complexities. The Master Control Chronograph Calendar in pink gold with a black dial will be introduced in 2023 by a prestigious Swiss Maison as a stunning new version of this illustrious line.
This clock, which combines classic techniques with modern design, is a perfect representation of Jaeger-LeCoultre's dedication to creating the best watches possible.
The rigorous Jaeger-LeCoultre 1,000-Hour Control Certification testing methodology was originally used on the Master Control collection, thus the name. The whole watch, not just the mechanism, must pass stringent tests to get this seal of approval, guaranteeing high standards of accuracy and dependability. The Master Control line is reminiscent of the Maison's renowned round watches from the 1950s and 1960s, such the Memovox and Futurematic, with its balanced proportions and elegant design.
The new Master Control Chronograph Calendar is a pink gold timepiece with a black face that was inspired by the colourful dials of historical timepieces from the middle of the 20th century.
The chronograph and calendar displays benefit from the case's sleek contemporary design, which serves as a canvas for a plethora of subtle features. A pulsometric scale surrounds the dial, which is how doctors have measured heart rates for centuries. With its red highlighting, this scale provides a striking visual contrast to the otherwise all-black dial, sub-dials, and day/month windows.
The Master Control Chronograph Calendar's dial design is timeless, uncomplicated, and easy to read despite the watch's many sophisticated functions. The top portion of the dial has day and month windows together with a circular moon-phase and date indication at 6 o'clock, and the chronograph's 30-minute counter can be found at 3 o'clock for convenient reference.
The sunray-brushed black dial stands in striking contrast to the rough 'azurage' finish of the sub-dials and the brilliant blue of the moon-phase indicator. The attached trapezoidal indexes and soft pink gold Dauphine hands further improve legibility.
With its gently sloping bezel and elegantly curved lugs, the 40mm pink gold case of the Master Control Chronograph Calendar emanates an understated elegance. The case is expertly polished around the bezel, crown, and lug bevels, and satin-brushed around the sides and lugs. There are bas-relief carvings on the case back bezel, and the sapphire case back reveals the exquisitely completed and ornamented mechanisms inside.
The 12.05mm thick case is perfectly proportioned, and the inclusion of rectangular chronograph pushers gives it a contemporary feel. A black alligator leather strap elegantly covers the pink gold case, completing the look with a traditional and timeless feel.
Automatic Calibre 759, a demonstration of Jaeger-LeCoultre's technological prowess and mechanical finesse, drives the Master Control Chronograph Calendar. This column-wheel mechanism with a vertical clutch and triple calendar and moon-phase display integrated chronograph movement offers a 65-hour power reserve. Côtes de Genève, blued screws, and the signature open-worked gold rotor with the Jaeger-LeCoultre 'JL' pattern are all visible through the transparent sapphire case back.
Jaeger-LeCoultre's steadfast dedication to workmanship and horological perfection is shown in the fact that every step of the production process, from design to assembly, takes place inside the Manufacture at Le Sentier in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland.
