It’s the weekend and I’m sure we’re all home all thanks to this pandemic. (ahhhhh!!) I’m thinking to myself; how can I be more productive today? How can I seize the day?

Right at that moment I think to myself what do the ultra-rich usually do on weekends or if they want to get away from the hustle bustle I.e life. Soon after just one-word pops in my head, “Yachts!”. There you go and now with this blog I plan to ‘seas’ my day.

A luxury yacht to most is a dream but the decision to buy one should not be looked at as a financial decision rather a lifestyle choice! Unlike conventional boats and automobiles, a luxury yacht does not depreciate in value.

According to the recent findings by the IMARC Group, the global luxury yacht market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9% between 2021-2026.

Talking about yachts it’s hard to leave Feadship out of the conversation.

The First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders or Feadship happens to be among the top 5 yachts and super yacht builders globally.

Formed as a group in 1949, the group has its roots traced as far back as a century. It was in Amsterdam’s De Roode Leeuw café restaurant where history was made and Feadship was born.

However let’s fast forward to 2021 and it is the same Feadship which is very close to making one family’s dream come true by manufacturing a bespoke super yacht. The best part is, its called “Somnium” which in Latin stands for dream, quite fitting if you’d ask me.

This 180 footer beast was designed in Feadship's Aalsmeer yard for an experienced Northern European owner. The owner was represented by Ron Kleverlaan from Waterman Marine Consultancy. The exterior of this extraordinary luxury yacht was created by Studio De Yoogt which has earned quite a reputation for itself and has delivered some of the most stunning exteriors for some of the best luxury yachts globally.

Somnium is clearly elegant and strikingly sleek perfectly reflecting the owner’s passion for sports cars.

Talking about her interiors, it was designed by FM Architettura and the Feadship describes it as “cozy”.

Other amenities include a high-tech gym with a foldable platform, vast outdoor areas for the family to hang out including a beautiful lounge and an inviting jacuzzi on the deck.

Well all I can say is that the brilliantly made luxury yacht 'Somnium' is a salient reminder that dreams can indeed come true!

So, let’s pack a bag, buy a boat, and sail away to far off coasts.
