The Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru is set to offer a unique culinary experience with a two-day Bhatkali cuisine event on December 13th and 14th at their signature restaurant, CUR8. This event, part of a series of culinary collaborations, features the extraordinary skills of home chef Fatima Riyaz. Chef Fatima is known for her dedication to the rich traditions and diverse influences of Bhatkali cuisine, a style of cooking from the coastal town of Bhatkal in Karnataka.
Chef Fatima's journey from a homemaker to the founder of Lady Ladle showcases her deep passion for Bhatkali cooking. She began by sharing the region's flavors with family and friends in Bengaluru, which inspired her to pursue her culinary dreams further. Her dishes at the pop-up are infused with the authenticity and warmth of home cooking, adding a new dimension to the dining experience at Four Seasons.
Bhatkal, nestled along Karnataka's scenic coastline, is a cultural melting pot influenced by centuries of trade between Yemen and Persia. This heritage is reflected in its cuisine, which blends local ingredients with Middle Eastern spices to create a unique and enticing flavor profile.
At the pop-up, Chef Fatima will present signature dishes such as Mudkale and Haldi Pana Nevri, showcasing Bhatkali culinary innovation. The highlight is the iconic Bhatkali Biryani, symbolizing the town's multicultural heritage. The menu also includes a selection of desserts like Showfapana Poli and Shaala Pudding, offering a delightful end to the meal.
The ambiance at CUR8 mirrors the warmth and cultural richness of Bhatkali homes, ensuring a dining experience that goes beyond the food and captures the essence of the region cultural narrative.
