French Luxury Group LVMH Picks up a Stake in New York-Headquartered Streetwear Brand Aime Leon Dore

The investment division of French luxury group LVMH has invested an undisclosed amount in New York-based street wear brand Aimé Leon Dore for a minority stake.
As per the details shared by LVMH Luxury Ventures, the brand Aimé Leon Dore will continue to work independently. It will do so from its headquarters in New York, United States and LVMH will share its experience and guidance with regards to the work.
Teddy Santis who happens to be the Founder & Creative Director of Aimé Leon Dore opined that the strong network of LVMH’s global leaders across the fashion fraternity combined with its glorious history of nurturing great brands brought forward a brilliant partnership opportunity for the next step in Aimé Leon Dore's growth story.
More About Aimé Leon Dore
Founded in 2014 in Queens, Aimé Leon Dore has grown a cult following of fans for its urban style influenced by New York City, and has previously collaborated with the likes of New Balance and Woolrich.
Last year, founder Santis also became the creative director of the ‘Made in USA’ line of New Balance.
Sources told WWD that Aimé Leon Dore plans to open a boutique in London as early as March as part of its expansion strategy.
LVMH Luxury Venture was set up in 2017 to support up-and-coming luxury businesses.
Current investments include New York-based luxury leather goods and ready-to-wear brand Gabriela Hearst, and LA-based lifestyle brand Madhappy.
