With the Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to Frédéric Chopin, Montblanc pays homage to one of the great masters of Romantic music. These writing tools' delicate design aspects underscore the profound cultural impact and honour that the Polish composer and virtuoso pianist has left behind.
The Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to Frédéric Chopin writing instrument's clip is formed like a piano hammer to honour his piano-centric output. Along with the Montblanc insignia, the hat ring incorporates musical notes from his renowned nocturne, "B-flat minor Op.9 No.1."
On the rear of the pen's cap, the composer's signature is laser etched. Chopin's profile is engraved on the bi-color Au 585 solid gold nib. The blue ink window on the fountain pen is a nod to his girlfriend and novelist George Sand's usage of the term "La Note Bleue" in one of her writings while describing an evening spent with Chopin and painter Delacroix.
In response to a discussion on the colours of paintings and music, the composer improvised music that enveloped the visitors in a whirlwind of musical notes that may be characterised as "blue."
The collection comprises one Special Edition (available in Fountain Pen, Roller Ball, or Ballpoint Pen format) packaged in a Special Gift Box that also includes a notepad embellished with musical notes from Chopin's famous "B-flat minor Op.9 No.1".
Montblanc's Gift Pens series makes a donation of 20 euros to carefully chosen cultural initiatives through the Montblanc Cultural Foundation for each fountain pen and 10 euros for each rollerball/ballpoint sold.
From May 2022, the Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to Frédéric Chopin Edition will be available at Montblanc shops globally and on the internet.
