HA HA HA
Harry Styles has been chosen as the face of the Gucci HA HA HA campaign. The campaign, photographed by Mark Borthwick and inspired by the friendship between Creative Director Alessandro Michele and British singer-songwriter and actor Ed Sheeran, features the 'dream wardrobe' characterised by the eccentric use of romantic accents, dreamy prints, vintage details, and the individual's expressive emotionality.
Set in an unidentified location, the Gucci HA HA HA advertisement morphs into a game of dress-up in which Harry Styles exhibits expressive emotionality and gesturality to display grandeur without pretence. Garments are worn with unorthodox accessories, such as the Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag, before being abandoned and stored.
The name of the Gucci HA HA HA collection is inspired from the onomatopoeic sound of the 'laughing face' emoji's textual essence and the initials of 'Harry' and 'Alessandro.' The unusual line of ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories with eccentric patterns and vibrant colours represents the destination of a unique two-person journey. The line consists of a double-breasted jacket and matching pants made from camel herringbone solid wool or camel corduroy. Gucci's cherries emblem is embroidered on the back pocket of the light blue bleached wash broken twill denim pants.
For the accessories line, this collection reinvented the Jackie 1961 shoulder bag with metal eyelets. Gucci HA HA HA pince-nez glasses are fashioned of gold metal. The pince-nez style, which dates back to the 15th century and literally translates to "pinched nose" in English, was a method for holding up glasses without earpieces. The hat is made of felt and is available in black, brown, and mustard yellow with Double G stitching.
