Hennessy and its 'Unfinished Business' initiative

Hennessy steps out to support small minority-owned businesses amidst Covid-19 crisis through their 'Unfinished Business' initiative.

The economic crisis triggered by the Covid-19 is continuing to affect many people. The virus-imposed shutdown has forced several businesses in a multitude of sectors to shut down permanently.

In order to safeguard these vulnerable small businesses, Hennessy has launched its ‘unfinished business’ initiative in the United States. Through this they will financially help small businesses to come out of this crisis. Hennessy will enable small businesses to register in this platform in-order to obtain financial assistance to meet urgent needs. The registered entities will also be provided with important information relating to business and educational content to train them to successfully manage and lead their businesses in this crisis.

Hennessy believes in the fact that small businesses play a pivotal role in development of the economy. Small businesses play a very important role in the economy by creating new jobs, contributing in the growth of gross domestic product of the country, exports, community development and skills development. In this crisis, minority entrepreneurs have faced a disproportionate share of hardships. This has triggered Hennessy to provide relief to the small entrepreneurs belonging to deprived communities, directly through three national organizations such as, One Hundred Black Men of America, the Asian American Business Development Centre and the Hispanic Federation. These national organizations will distribute the funds provided by Hennessy directly to the minority-owned small businesses which they already support at community level.

This program will not only support the small business but also the ones belonging to the Black, Hispanic and Asian American communities, who have been specially hit hard by the Covid-19 crisis. Hennessy is committed to this initiative and they play a pivotal role in it.

As explained by Laurent Boillot, Chief Executive Officer, Hennessy, “Hennessy has always valued the spirit of resilience and this is what these small businesses represent. We do not want these pillars of community to succumb to the current global pandemic and are offering our support to help them continue pushing forward.”

As a part of its ‘Unfinished Businesses’ initiative, Hennessy is also set to financially aid the hospitality sector. The cognac house will also help small restaurants and bars, who are their key partners. Hennessy will help them reboot their business.
