Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto- A Luxury Collection Hotel And Spa To Launch In Kyoto, Japan

The Luxury Collection, which is part of the Marriot International Inc Group, recently announced the launch of a new luxury hotel in Japan called Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto.

This property was once known for being the Mitsui’s family home and till date features a 300-year-old main entrance gate named Kajiimiya Gate.

The luxury hotels layout and interiors have been designed by a team of international architects including some top names in the industry like Andre Fu, Yohei Akao and Shunsaku Miyagi.

The property is popularly known for being the only luxury hotel in Kyoto to feature its won natural hot spring from thermal underground water.

It is located amidst the most prime area of the city that opens up to a 17th century UN World Heritage Site- the Nijo Castle which is right opposite the hotel, along with many other popular gardens, shrines and tourist attractions at a short distance from the property.

The space is characterized by a contemporary yet modern appeal with its minimalist design which perfectly blends together traditions, comfort, luxury and beauty.

It has nearly 160 rooms, each of which feature Japanese traditions through its interiors and layout. Every room features a Japanese tea-room and a spacious bathtub that is hewn from stone.

It also offers two private suites that offers the best scenic views and has a private garden and access to an outdoor hot spring to enjoy their stay experiencing true luxury.

For relaxing in true luxury, the hotel features a 1000 square meter thermal hot spring and four spa treatment centers along with fully-equipped gym facilities.

Apart from that, one of the most outstanding features of the hotel is its bar and restaurant services, one of which is Toki, that represents true Japanese cuisines with its own twist that is prepared in an open-pan steel tappan around a Kabazakura birch counter.

The other restaurant, Forni, is Italian cuisine based merged with Japanese cooking techniques that features the use of okudosan that is used as a replacement to a wood-burning oven for making roasts and pizzas.

Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto is a true testament to Japanese culture bringing together various elements like Japanese cuisines, architecture, traditions and crafts as building blocks to bring about the luxurious appeal that Luxury Collection caters to.
