The Taste of Wazwan, a 10-day Kashmiri culinary festival at Aaleeshan, JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa is a delectable journey through Kashmir's food
Traditional Kashmiri cuisine revolves on the multi-course feast known as wazwan, the creation of which is both an art and a point of national pride. To celebrate Kashmiri culture and bring it to Bengaluru, the hotel is hosting a 10-day festival at Aaleeshan, an authentic Indian restaurant with a long history.
Chef Quyoomhef Quyoom is from a Muslim family in Kashmir, and he learnt how to cook mostly from his father, who is known as a "khansama" and has held various food festivals at prestigious hotels over the last quarter century. Goshtaba, Rista, Haaq, Marchwangan korma, Tabak Maaz, Tchok wangan, Maaz seekh, Nadru Yakhni, Heddar kebab, and speciality breads like Bakharkhani, Srinagari Sheermal, Girda Roti, etc. are among his favourite dishes to cook.
On offer for à la carte lunch at the JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa from January 6th to the 15th, 2023 is the Kashmiri Food Festival, Taste of Wazwan at Alishan, an epicurean journey through authentic Kashmiri delicacies.
