Handcrafted jewellery label Daniella Draper has joined the list of esteemed brands like Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton to get the Butterfly Mark by Positive Luxury for its innovation and environmental performance.
The UK-based luxury business has catered to creating designer pieces by practicing superior quality of craftsmanship while following the highest standard of environmental policies, resulting in the accreditation.
A total of 12 positive actions were accounted for, including responsible sourcing of gemstones, use of recycled gold and contribution to carbon reduction.
“Being awarded the Butterfly Mark certification is an amazing confirmation of our work so far, but we can do more and will continue to do so.”
The brand completes its sixth month of working with climate activist Ecologi to reduce the rate of carbon emissions and support multiple initiatives to protect our planet.
The idea of Positive Luxury was founded in 2011 by Diana Verde Nieto and Karen Hanton with the intent to popularize environmental health and to consciously take care of our surroundings. Over 10 years later, more than 100 luxury brands have the right to showcase the mark.
Daniella Draper also offers contributions through partnering with various organizations to provide clean drinking water in Haiti. They have collectively managed to plant over 3068 trees and offset 280.08 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
The brand has also developed strategies to convert degraded grasslands in Uruguay into managed forestry.
Daniella Draper’s family-run business has been featured by many famous artists such as Ed Sheeran, Kate Moss and the Duchess of Cambridge and has soon turned into one of the top global sustainable jewellery brands.
