Klarna Bank AB, or simply referred to as Klarna, is a fintech business headquartred in Sweden and it offers online financial services such as payments for online stores, direct payments, and post-purchase payments.
Klarna has recently released a physical payment card that can be used to pay for things in stores in the UK. Customers get the advantage of buying things now and pay for their purchases later.
If you use the card, you'll be able to pay with Klarna's "Pay in 30," which means you can pay up to 30 days after you buy something. Payment options could be added at a later date as well.
Payment cards will give UK customers the "flexibility to pay later for purchases everywhere, without the inherent risks of interest and revolving credit." This is what the global banking, payments, and shopping service said in a statement.
The "Klarna Card" was first used in Sweden and Germany last year, and it has now been used by more than 800,000 people. The card will also be used in the United States.
400,000 people are on a waiting list for the card in the UK, which the payment company says shows there is a "strong demand for a new approach to credit." The card will be available in stages over the coming months.
Launched in the UK, "Klarna Card" lets people buy things at stores and "pay in 30".Consumers will be able to have more control, transparency, and choice over how they pay with Klarna's payment card, which it says is "a fairer and more sustainable alternative to traditional credit, giving them payment flexibility with clear payment dates, no interest, and, in the case of Klarna, no late fees," the company says.Customers can choose between a Visa card that is black or pink.
Shoppers will also be able to use the card through Apple or Google Pay, or by making a contactless payment in a store, too. People can pay for things for as long as 30 days, and there won't be a foreign exchange fee or markup. They can also extend the due date for up to 10 days for free.App users will be able to see all the purchases made with their card at stores, as well as get push notifications for all transactions, even if a payment isn't made. They can also quickly block their card for a short period of time.Customers don't want credit products that charge double-digit interest rates and let them put off paying for a long time, says the head of Klarna UK, Alex Marsh. There is no interest when you buy something online and set up a payment plan that works for you.
Buy now pay later has become the best option. Consumers will now be able to use BNPL for all of their in-store purchases thanks to the launch of the Klarna Card in the UK. They will be able to control and see all of their purchases. Recently, Klarna made some changes to its service in the United Kingdom.
In October, the company added a "pay now" option, which lets people pay right away and in full, wherever Klarna is available. It also improved its affordability checks and checkout language, removed the last remaining late fees on its regulated financing product, and made the language more clear as it looks to set better standards for the payments industry in the UK.
