The Batman X Kross Studio
Inspired by the Bat-Signal, Swiss blockbuster atelier Kross Studio has released a new ten-piece USD 100,000 USD Collector Set tourbillon in honour of Matt Reeves' next feature, The Batman.
Given the importance of the Bat Signal in "The Batman" Tourbillon, it was only natural for Kross Studio to incorporate a working Bat Signal art piece as a component of each collector set. Each clock is accompanied by a working Bat Signal that lights, further immersing the collector in the Gotham City milieu.
A Wrist Bat-Signal
With its dark style, ultra-precise mechanism, and iconic Bat-Signal depiction, the Kross team created a timepiece that symbolises Batman that works as a backdrop for a central tourbillon cage created like Bat symbol.
Innovation
The watch is powered by a revised version of Kross Studio's in-house designed and manufactured movement KS 7'000: the mechanical hand-wound 3 Hz calibre KS 7'001, which has a 5-day power reserve.
Tourbillon cage in the form of a bat
Placed atop the large cage of the central tourbillon, the smaller Bat-louvered Signal's surface lets light to pass through and provides views of the regulator below. It rotates once every minute.
Check the time
Hours and minutes are read differently on the clock. The hour hand is attached to a tourbillon-mounted peripheral display mechanism that revolves 360 degrees around the tourbillon. The minutes are shown on a disc that rotates once an hour.
An Awesome case
A low-profile domed sapphire crystal arcs over the dial, complementing the rounded corners of the 45mm black DLC-coated grade 5 titanium case. The movement and watch components number 283 pieces, all of which were handcrafted and assembled on-site at Kross Studio in Gland, Switzerland.
Ingenious features
Kross Studio needed to strike a balance between ergonomic concerns and enhanced user experience while designing the wristwatch. The D-ring crown, which is located on the case back, and the "Time Set" push button, which is located at 3 o'clock on the edge of the watch, preserve a low profile for more comfortable wear than a traditional crown while also providing a quicker, easier winding and time-setting experience.
Straps that are interchangeable
The watch has an adaptable strap mechanism. The case's sleek lines are maintained by carefully concealing the two quick-release buttons on the bottom. This convenient function enables you to switch from the provided calfskin leather strap to one of the two available rubber straps with a single click.
A sculpture that serves a purpose
Given the importance of the Bat-Signal in "The Batman" Tourbillon, it was only natural for Kross Studio to incorporate a working Bat-Signal art piece as a component of each collector set. It stands 32,5cm (12,8 inches) tall and weighs 12kg (423,3 ounces).
Luminate the Night
The Bat-Signal by Kross Studio lights, further immersing the collector in the world of Gotham City and "The Batman." "Additionally, he hides a specific area on his rear for storing The Batman tourbillon or any other watch discreetly.
The illuminated Bat Signal art piece is inspired by the comic books and movie' characteristic louvred design and includes a place on the back for keeping the watch.
Additionally, Kross Studio will release a series of USD 250 USD watch rolls inspired by the film, with designs honouring Batman, Catwoman, and The Riddler.
"The Batman" Collector Set is available via Kross Studio for USD 100,000, with the film premiering in the United States on March 4 and "The Batman" Collector sets and collector watch rolls are available for purchase at kross-studio.ch, as well as via authorised partners and shops.
