Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle and a titan in luxury real estate, is expanding his high-end portfolio with the acquisition of the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. Located in the exclusive enclave of Manalapan, just south of Palm Beach, this iconic property adds to Ellison’s impressive collection of luxury assets across the globe.
A Historic Retreat for the Elite
The Eau Palm Beach Resort, originally known as La Coquille Club, has been a prestigious retreat since the 1950s, attracting notable families such as the Vanderbilts, Fords, and Rockefellers. The resort’s deep-rooted history and elite clientele make it a jewel in Ellison’s growing real estate empire.
Strategic Acquisition and Future Enhancements
The resort was purchased from the Lewis family, who had owned it since 2003. While the purchase price remains undisclosed, the acquisition is seen as a strategic move by Ellison to further cement his influence in luxury hospitality. According to Tim Nardi, the general manager of Eau Palm Beach, Ellison’s vast experience in luxury hospitality is expected to bring innovative upgrades to the property. The current team of hoteliers will remain in place, ensuring continuity as the resort enters its next chapter under Ellison’s ownership.
A Glimpse into Ellison's Expansive Portfolio
This acquisition adds to Ellison’s already sprawling real estate portfolio, which includes properties in South Florida, Malibu, and the Hawaiian island of Lanai. Notably, Ellison made headlines in 2022 with a $173 million purchase of a 16-acre oceanfront compound in Manalapan, marking the highest residential sale in Florida’s history. His portfolio also includes prestigious properties like Nobu hotels in Malibu and Palo Alto, the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, and Sensei Porcupine Creek.
