Louis Vuitton to open first standalone store for men on July 6

Louis Vuitton is all set to open its first ever standalone men’s store in the new Miyashita Park Mall in Tokyo. The store will start its operations from July 6 and customers will be allowed on appointment basis.
The opening of the store was originally scheduled to coincide with the Olympic Games that was set to kick of this summer in Tokyo. Now as the country’s economy is slowly re-opening, the LVMH Maison has planned to finally open the store.
Their module will be certainly in line with the on-going social distancing norms, the store in the Miyashita Park Mall will start its operation from July 6 and customers will be allowed on appointment only basis. Until July 27 online booking of appointment will be mandatory.
Around 90 stores, including Balenciaga, Gucci and Prada will feature in the new development in Shibuya district. Originally the Miyashita Park was due to open in mid of June, but due to disruption because of the pandemic, the new date has been pushed back to end of July.
The new Louis Vuitton men’s store will offer not only ready-to-wear and accessories but also leather goods, fragrances, shoes, travel jewelry and fine jewelry.
The façade of the two-story LV boutique has been customized in such a way, so as to mark the new strategic collaboration between Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director and Japanese fashion designer Nigo. Nigo is the creator of the famous clothing lines named Bape, A Bathing Ape and Human Made.
The initial part of the LV2 collection shall go for worldwide sale on June 26 and the second drop is planned to be scheduled on August 28.
To celebrate the opening of the store the façade is customized to make the new collaboration and the customers will be greeted and welcomed by a LV made 10-foot tall duck. This will reinterpret the Human Made emblem that will be on the shelf as a collector’s item, it will be either on a coin purse or attached to the handles of a bag. There will also be a plethora limited-edition items on the shelf, including the LV monogrammedmink hoodie.
Japan was among the first markets to feature Abloh’s designed LV products which were launched last year. This portrays a very close relation between Louis Vuitton and Japan.
Michael Burke, Chief Executive Officer of Louis Vuitton said that their pop-up store in Tokyo that was opened in January 2019 ranked 30% more in its first 48 hours of operation as compared to the same time frame of their collaborative collection with Supreme in 2018.
