Luxury Denims Are the New Faces on Fashion Tabloids
Ever since iconic personalities such as James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause and the brooding Marlon Brando appeared on-screen having donned their washed-blue denims- the apparel almost became the omnipresent, go-to garment for all of America. Over the years, denims have become extremely commonplace, and weren’t seen fit enough to be donned on runways or displayed on magazine covers for quite some time.
However, since the fashion industry is synonymous with changing trends and bold revolutions, denims made an appearance on the Fashion Bible in 1988, all thanks to the Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue America. Subsequently, top-tier brands such as Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Dior commenced using denims for catwalks and runway shows.
As of 2020, the esteemed Parisian luxury brand home, Valentino, has teamed up with Levi’s to create an exclusive denim line. The brand, which is extremely popular for its flamboyant tulle gowns and dresses, has absolutely bewitched the industry with the announcement of this exciting new collaboration.
The brand's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli designed his version of the American brand's 1969 517 boot-cut jeans, retaining its original style and simply adding a back tag with the two brands’ logos. This version was sent down the catwalk, and also displayed as part of the Valentino Collezione show in Milan.
This collection is set to drop in the beginning of 2021, and is yet another splendid gifts Valentino has blessed the fashion industry with, following its marvellous collaboration line with Onitsuka Tiger.
