Luxury Destination Weddings Are Back in Demand Across India

India is home to a plethora of gorgeous luxury wedding destinations with some of the most prominent of them being Udaipur’s Lake Pichola Palace, Pink city Jaipur, God’s own land Kerala to name a few.

With Bollywood celebrities like Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone further popularizing the idea of destination weddings, it has become a trend of sorts to scout for the most perfect wedding locations in India to celebrate the big day.

Ever since the pandemic hit, many impending functions and weddings were postponed to be celebrated until later. Now, India is seeing a sudden boom in wedding celebrations for hosting ‘diverted destination’ weddings out of which many are those that were postponed last year or of the ultra-rich who cannot celebrate abroad due to current travel restrictions.

This has resulted in a great demand for Indian luxury destination wedding locations across the country and has brought a boom in the hospitality industry.

Leading hospitality brands like Oberoi, Taj Marriott, Leela and few others are amongst the leading choices for celebrations considering they have prime properties across these locations and are known to offer the best wedding service in India.

While it is to be noted that major hospitality brands across India are taking all the necessary precautions and safety measures to ensure that guests have a hassle-free and secure experience with them.

They are adhering to strict measures that all the staff and crew have been briefed with beforehand and continue to follow the rules regarding social distancing, size of gathering, ensuring people are wearing their masks and using sanitizers while complying with the general safety protocols pertaining to the current pandemic.

According to statistics by Accor Group nearly 60% weddings have been pushed to 2021-22 due to the ongoing crisis, which will have a direct impact on the hospitality industry.

In a talk with leading hoteliers, they shared that a true Bollywood style Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) wedding will usually be celebrated across a 2 to 3 day affair, including sangeet, mehendi, haldi, the main wedding and a reception function.

Including accommodation costs, meals and drinks, acitvities and entertainment, an event of this scale would cost nearly INR 1.15 crore at an esteemed luxury hotel in India.

With a drastic change in guest count which now ranges between 50 to 200, weddings have become an extremely intimate celebration. India is back to becoming a huge hotspot for luxurious destination weddings and we cannot contain our excitement! All while following the most updated safety protocols, of course.
