Girard-Perregaux unveils the Laureato 38mm Copper, a unisex timepiece with a dial that displays different colours depending on the light source. The one-dimensional dial has a Clous de Paris design, a famous pattern comprised of many pyramidal structures that interact with light to generate small pockets of brightness and darkness.
The Laureato 38mm Copper's index and baton-shaped hands indicate the hours and minutes. Both the hands and indexes are coated with a luminescent material to improve readability in low light. A gold sweep seconds hand in the centre of the dial matches the copper dial. The dial is finished with the GP logo, which is presented in golden tones.
The self-winding Calibre GP03300 is visible through the see-through caseback of the Laureato 38mm Copper. The in-house movement is adorned with several elegant details. At least four various finishes, including bevelling, mirror-polishing, satin finish, snailing, sunray finish, and countless engravings, are applied to some components. The pink gold oscillating weight features round Côtes de Genève, whilst the bridges have straight Côtes de Genève.
All Laureato watches have an octagonal bezel on a circular ring atop an angular tonneau-shaped case. Despite having geometric, clean-cut lines, the clock's case has a calming attitude, similar to that of a naturally formed rock devoid of roughness. The artwork has an amazing interplay between polished and satin-finished surfaces. Each of the finishes is distinct from the others. The outside incorporates a band that wraps around the wearer's wrist.
The only 38mm in the permanent collection of Laureato will be the 81005 Copper. The limited quantities of this model will be distributed to authorised Girard-Perregaux shops in December 2022.
