Metaverse Fever
The Metaverse fever is definitely catching on especially in the fashion world with some of the biggest fashion brands, luxury fashion brands joining the metaverse. The latest update is that Mango, the Spanish fast fashion retailer, is entering the metaverse with the help of art.
Using Art
The fashion company has debuted three one-of-a-kind pieces developed in collaboration with Argentine-Hungarian crypto-artist Farka. The artwork will be shown in Decentraland's Museum District as part of the first Metaverse Fashion Week.
Art inspired clothes
Mango will show the works Mango Metagirl, Mango Ad Astra, and Hanna in the Clouds for a month with Farkas, who is located in Buenos Aires. The art is inspired by the brand's clothes (the Lupi, Cinema, and Mónica models) and aims to project the metaverse into the future as well as the artist's personal vision.
Self-belief
As per Farkas Mango Metagirl is inspired by self-esteem and emancipation concepts. In the metaverse, you may be anything you want, but the Mango girl believes in herself and presents herself exactly as she is in real life.
Journey into the future
"Mango Ad Astra, on the other hand, depicts the woman's journey to the future, whilst Hanna in the Clouds demonstrates that the metaverse may be completely customised,"the artist said.
The three NFTs have been shown at coordinates 13.82 in Decentraland's Museum District, where Mango has its own section to recreate a museum. It is an open area with a circular form and columns that exhibits three framed pieces of art.
Mango NFTs
Similarly, the NFTs have been uploaded to the OpenSea platform, one of the most popular markets for non-fungible tokens, through blockchain technology, but will not be made available for purchase. The artist employed technical tools such as the free programme Blender to create the pieces, and he cooperated with Mango's technology and 3D product design teams.
The Age of Mango Wearables
Along with the art installations, Mango will debut its first three wearables to mark Metaverse Fashion Week. The first, created in conjunction with Farkas, will be a virtual replica of the Lupi gown, which embodies the Mediterranean values and culture that define Mango. This NFT will not be sold, but instead be added to the company's historical collection.
Additionally, the group will construct two t-shirt NFTs (man and woman models) to commemorate the first Metaverse Fashion Week, which will be regarded collectibles. 50 pieces of both male and female models will be created: 49 will be distributed to virtual event participants, while one will remain the company's property.
Mango's introduction into the metaverse's virtual environment signifies another step toward enhancing the network of channels and partners upon which the company's business model is built. Additionally, it reinforces the company's commitment to digital innovation and channel expansion.
Jordi Garcia, Mango's Director of Technology, Data, Privacy, and Security, notes that
"Mango's growth in the metaverse environment exemplifies the company's inventive spirit and philosophy of continuous innovation."
We have established a dedicated team for the production of digital content, which will be expanded in the coming months, in order to pursue new initiatives that will enable us to integrate the virtual environment into our channel ecosystem alongside the digital and physical worlds.
