Maserati has finished its brand revitalization and is preparing to debut the Maserati Folgore electric vehicle line. Trident becomes Italy's first premium automobile company to offer all electric vehicles.
In 2021, the Stellantis Group's only luxury brand recorded a 2.4 percent worldwide market share, particularly 2.9 percent in North America and 2.7 percent in China.
Maserati increased its sales by 41% year on year last year, delivering 24,269 automobiles to consumers worldwide. Adjusted Operating Income (AOI) margin was 5.1 percent on €2,021 million in Net Revenues. Such exceptional achievements enable the brand to pave the way for the introduction of the world's first all-electric sports automobile. It plans to finish its electric grid by 2025.
The Folgore GranTurismo will be Maserati's first all-electric vehicle. It will be manufactured in Mirafiori's production base and will hit the market in 2023. It will include cutting-edge technological solutions derived from Formula E, as well as exceptional performance, comfort, and elegance, all of which are synonymous with the Trident. The all-new Grecale SUV will also be offered in an electric variant next year.
By 2025, all Maserati vehicles will be available in a fully electric form: the MC20 super sports car, the new Quattroporte performance sedan, and the all-new full-size Levante SUV will round out the Maserati Folgore lineup, aimed at attracting the new luxury customer across all market sectors.
By 2030, Maserati's whole lineup will be entirely electrified. The Maserati initiative is part of Stellantis's "Dare Forward 2030" strategy plan, which was revealed on March 1.
All future vehicles from the brand will be conceived, engineered, and manufactured entirely in Italy, and will have all-electric powertrains.
Maserati's electrification strategy in a Nutshell
Maserati's upcoming GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be the brand's first vehicles to have all-electric powertrains.
According to the commercial and financial goals, the new Maserati models will be conceived, constructed, and manufactured entirely in Italy, and will include electric powertrain systems capable of providing both ground-breaking innovation and the legendary performance associated with the Brand.
After beginning testing on the new full electric powerplants that will be installed on future Maserati models in recent months, the Maserati range's development and electrified production plan has been formally presented: the complete electric line will be called Folgore.
The new Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio will be the brand's first vehicles to have all-electric powertrains; they will be designed in Modena and manufactured in the Turin manufacturing facility.
Additionally, an electric version of the new Maserati MC20 supercar will be constructed in Maserati's Modena facility.
On the other hand, the battery modules for all electric Maserati vehicles will be manufactured in Turin's Mirafiori Battery Hub assembly factory.
Maserati's characteristic scream will remain an iconic feature: the next vehicles powered entirely by electricity will have a unique, unmistakable growl, much like the Maserati cars powered by conventional engines.
