Tokyo based ramen shop Tsuta was the first ever noodle house to be awarded a Michelin star back in 2015. Since then, the brand has expanded globally with outlets across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore and San Francisco. Now, Tsuta is all set to hit Brooklyn, New York with its exclusive cuisines.
As part of a boutique retail hub, the restaurant will open later this summer in the Dumbo neighborhood. This one-story building is also to feature a popular Japanese coffee shop Arabica.
From what began as a nine-seater noodle house, Tsuta will now feature a 40-seater interior dining facility with around 15 guests occupying the outer area.
Guests can expect the absolute best hospitality service with some mouth-watering delicacies like Chef Yuki Onishi’s house made noodles that is made using blends of different whole wheat flours to get the ideal texture, flavorsome broths infused with truffle oil and the king of all dishes, ramen topped with leeks, pork belly and freshly sourced ingredients.
The restaurant is also looking at offering vegetarian ramen alternatives at some point in the future.
This is the second branch to open in the US, the first one being in San Francisco where people lined up at as early as 6AM to get their hands on Tsuta’s noodles. Due to the pandemic, the restaurant had to be shut in early March 2020. Although, in-house dining was not allowed they continued to offer take-away services.
But like they say, nothing can stop a team of high-spirited individuals who are passionate about food. Alan Lo, co-founder of the New York branch confirmed that they are planning to launch at least one more branch in the NYC location and later another one in Canada as well.
Tsuta has truly grown from a local to international hotel brand and we look forward to what more the brand has in store for us!
