We all enjoy watching movies and binging on them all day; movies are often inspired by lifestyle of certain people or they imitate a certain lifestyle that can influence the minds of many of its viewers.
Lavish lifestyle and living in luxury are in the dreams of many and some of these movies set major lifestyle goals for us that bridge the gap between our life and the lifestyle we all fantasize about.
Here are a few must watch, binge worthy movies that showcase different aspects of a luxurious lifestyle:
1. How to Steal a Million (1966)
How to steal a million is a 1966 American heist comedy film directed by William Wyler featuring Audrey Hepburn, Peter O'Toole, Eli Wallach, Hugh Griffith, and Charles Boyer. The movie was set and filmed in France, though the characters speak in English the entire movie. The main lead-Hepburn's clothes were designed by Givenchy.
Plot :
The movie revolves around how an art forger’s daughter (Nicole) who teams up with a burglar to steal one of her father's forgeries and protect his secret.
Charles Bonnet from Paris is well known in the art world for his collection of rare art pieces, mostly of the impressionist masters. He sells paintings from his collection at auction on certain occasions. But, in reality, he only reproduces those pieces that have known to have gone missing. In order to save her father from jail, she asks Simon to steal her father’s collection, Simon who is unaware of her father’s true identity is intrigued by the challenge and now smitten with Miss Bonnet, agrees to the proposal.
2. Marie Antoinette (2006)
From showcasing a historical drama to winning the Academy Award for Best Costume Design, Marie Antoinette is a 2006 film written and directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Kirsten Dunst. It is based on the life of Queen Marie Antoinette.
Plot:
Maria Antonia, a fourteen year old beautiful and charming Archduchess of Austria and the youngest of Empress Maria-Theresa's daughters gets married to the Dauphin of France, the future Louis XVI, to seal an alliance between the two rival countries. From her luxurious lifestyle to her marriage struggles, the movie revolves around Marie Antoinette’s way of dealing with various situations that comes by after becoming the Queen of France. The movie has outlined Marie Antoinette's nature and her dedication towards her lifestyle. It is a beautiful biopic of the Queen of France whose lifestyle was a symbol for the extravagance in the 18th century, and eventually how she was plundered of her riches and luxury, imprisoned and beheaded by her own during the French Revolution in the year 1789.
3. Crazy Rich Asians
An American rom-com directed by Jon M. Chu, inspired by Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim from a screenplay. The film features Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, and Michelle Yeoh
Plot:
The story line revolves around the life of a Chinese-American professor who travels with her boyfriend to meet his family only to discovers that they are among the richest families of Singapore And her boyfriend Nick is known to be the most eligible bachelor in Asia. She finds herself dealing with every single woman’s jealousy who has been constantly trying in their own ways to bring her down.
4. The Great Gatsby (2012)
The Great Gatsby is another great romantic drama, co-written and directed by Baz Luhrmann and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, with Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, and Elizabeth Debicki.
Plot:
Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) leaves the Midwest and travels to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loose morals, glittering jazz, workaholics, competitive markets, and sky-rocketing stocks. To chase his own American Dream, Nick ends up being a next door neighbor to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super-rich and their illusions, loves games and deceits. 5. The Bling Ring (2013)
A crime film written and directed by Sofia Coppola, The Bling Ring is a 2013 film that features Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Emma Watson, Taissa Farmiga, and Claire Julien and is based on the 2010 Vanity Fair article "The Suspects Wore Louboutins" by Nancy Jo Sales, which dealt with a real-life gang called the Bling Ring.
Plot:
The story is about a group of fame-obsessed teenagers who use their internet hacks and skills to track celebrities and their whereabouts in order rob the homes of riches. From tracking their targets whereabouts online, they break-in and steal their designer clothes and accessories amplifying today's culture of celebrity and luxury brand obsession, something that begins as teenage fun goes out of control and gives a reflection of today’s culture.
6. The Devil wears Prada (2006)
A screenplay, written by Aline Brosh McKenna, based on Lauren Weisberger's novel of the same name in 2003, The Devils wears Prada is an American comedy-drama directed by David Frankel and produced by Wendy Finerman. The movie highlights the glamour and luxury of being in the professional Runway fashion magazine company, and the challenges that come along.
Plot:
Andrea Sachs who just graduated in journalism is now hired as the new second assistant of the powerful Miranda Priestly in New York, as known to be ruthless and cold hearted executive of the Runway fashion magazine. The movie outlines Andrea’s character and how she makes changes to fit herself into the professional world. Andrea changes her attitude and look, which has consequences of affecting her personal life and her relationship with boyfriend Nate, her family and friends. Towards the end, Andrea learns that life is made of a series of choices.
7. Monte Carlo (2011)
A perfect blend of adventure, romance and comedy, Monte Carlo is a film directed by Thomas Bezucha. Denise Di Novi, Alison Greenspan, Nicole Kidman, and Arnon Milchan produced the film for Fox 2000 Pictures and Regency Enterprises. It is based on Headhunters by Jules Bass. The Movie stars Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy as three friends who are misunderstood to be wealthy socialites in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Plot:
A young woman along with her step sister and best friend use up their savings to plan for a long dream Vacation to the beautiful city of Paris, which turns out to become a big disappointment. When they decide to take a break from their disappointing tour and get back into the lobby of a luxury hotel, one of them is mistaken for a spoilt British heiress. Before they get the chance to reveal their true identities they find themselves to be wrapped up in misadventures during their vacation to Monte Carlo instead.
8. Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is an American rom-com movie, directed by Blake Edwards and written by George Axelrod. The movie is based on Truman Capote's 1958 novella of the same name, featuring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard.
Plot:
Holly Golightly, Manhattan's elegant socialite, finds herself infatuated to a charming new neighbor, Paul Varjak. In time, Paul, too, let’s himself drawn into Holly's superficial world, not because of the idea that he reminds her of her brother, but because, little by little, he finds himself driven towards Holly's alluring charm. 9. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
An American teen comedy film, Ferris Bueller’s Day off is written, co-produced, and directed by John Hughes. The film stars Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, a high-school student who risks missing school for a day in Chicago, with Mia Sara and Alan Ruck.
Plot:
Ferris Bueller is known for his skills at cutting and skipping classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last memorable duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, "borrows" a Ferrari and starts his one-day road journey through the streets of Chicago. His high school principal Rooney (Jeffrey Jones), determined to catch him in the act.
10. Arthur (2011)
Arthur is yet another American rom-com film written by Peter Baynham and directed by Jason Winer. It is a remake of the film of the same name written and directed by Steve Gordon. It stars Russell Brand with Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig, and Nick Nolte.
Plot:
New York City’s popular, wealthy playboy Arthur Bach is always getting drunk and does not have any aims and goals in life. Dutifully supported by his quick-witted butler, Hobson, Arthur jumps into an arranged marriage with heiress Susan Johnson. In the flow of the movie, he then meets Linda Marolla, a waitress from Queens and finds himself falling head over heels in love with her, but if he breaks his engagement with Susan, he may have to lose his fortune. The stakes are high, but the love is real.

The documentary reveals the behind-the-scenes and a glimpse of of what goes on inside the colorful, luxurious, luscious and sometimes stressful Christian Dior fashion house that makes the brand so popular and wanted by all.
13. Ford VS Ferrari (2019)
Ford v Ferrari also titled as Le Mans '66 in European territories is an American sports and drama film directed by James Mangold and written by Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Jason Keller. The film cast includes Matt Damon and Christian Bale, along with Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Tracy Letts, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Remo Girone, and Ray McKinnon.
Plot:
The plot follows whilst an American automobile designer Carroll Shelby and a courageous racer Ken Miles face company interference, the legal guidelines and laws of physics and their personal demons to layout and design a revolutionary, modern car for the Ford Motor Co. Together, they plan to compete in opposition to the race motors of Enzo Ferrari on the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.
14. Rush (2013)
Rush is a biographical sports film based on the life story and journey of Hunt–Lauda rivalry between two Formula One racers, the British James Hunt and the Austrian Niki Lauda during the 1976 Formula 1 motor-racing season in the year 1976. It was written by Peter Morgan, directed by Ron Howard and featured Chris Hemsworth as Hunt and Daniel Brühl as Lauda.
Plot:
In the mid-1970s, a charming English playboy James Hunt and an Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda share an excessive rivalry and enmity in Formula 1 racing. Driving motors which are little more than gas-filled, rolling bombs, Hunt and Lauda burn up the track, all of the whilst pushing themselves to the point of physical and an intellectual endurance. Meanwhile, the women of their lives watch each of them as drivers risking their lives with each lap.
15. Gone in 60 seconds (2000)
Gone in 60 Seconds is an American action and heist movie starring Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Giovanni Ribisi, Christopher Eccleston, Robert Duvall, Vinnie Jones, Delroy Lindo, Chi McBride and Will Patton. The film was directed by Dominic Sena, written by Scott Rosenberg, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film is known to be a remake of the H.B. Halicki film.
Plot:
The move revolves around the story of a car thief is compelled to steal 50 luxurious cars in single night to save the life of his brother, who has fallen foul of a dangerous crime lord Mafia. Oknown to be the the most popular car thief in California, he must reassemble his old gang in order to the almost impossible mission. His mission includes a lot of risk, complications and challenges by a rival gang of thieves and the local police officers.
These movies are filled with drama, thrills, and amazing twists and of course showcases the kinds of luxury pieces and lifestyle around the world. Each movie has their own element of luxury and extravagant lifestyle giving us some serious projection of lifestyle goals that will sweep you off your feet.
