One of the most creative and luxury design houses in the world, Bergman Design House have announced their newest superyacht projects for 2022. They have been introduced by Njord by Bergman Design House, the superyacht interior architecture and design company.
Bergman Design House has reconditioned the 56m Benetti Galaxy, converted the 61m Cassius from a previous commercial ship, and built the extraordinary 83m Eden.
GALAXY
To allow the customer to enjoy their Galaxy boat, Njord divided the refurbishment into stages. The first phase, which began in Spring 2021, includes the installation of new carpets, artwork, external seats, and cushions, as well as a general interior restyle. The owner was able to live in the space and provide input to the studio on which parts were most comfortable and which were underutilised, all of which aided in the development of the second phase.
Along with outside style, the major guest quarters received a complete interior refurbishment. Galaxy's nameplate logo has been redesigned by Njord, and her outward style has been revitalised with black painted mast and line details and a complete hull paint job.
The wood used in the flooring was chosen to stimulate the senses, while the furniture, designed by Njord and manufactured by BlackBerg Collection, is entirely organic. Dylan Cole, an American Digital Matte-Painter and concept designer specialised in work for cinema, television, and video games, designed the yacht's wall covering. This is a once-in-a-lifetime commission for the artist who created the worlds of Avatar, Maleficent, and Superman for Disney. The wall covering spans the whole of the main saloon. The vessel's centrepiece, Joseph Kibansky's "The Thinker" sculpture, has joined the Dutch artist's already-onboard "Baby We Made It" turtles.
Galaxy was finished in February 2022 after a five-month renovation and is scheduled to sail from Europe to the Caribbean to meet her new owners.
CASSIUS
Cassius is believed to be the most sustainable conversion of a ship into a superyacht of all time, a collaboration between C-Quest Yachts, Dennis Ingemansson exterior design, and Njord by Bergman Design House. The vessel is a full refurbishment of the Damen commercial vessel Shelf Express, which measures 62 metres in length.
The magnificent exploratory superyacht's interior design is inspired by nature and incorporates natural components such as stone and bamboo. Njord has created a very gorgeous place by combining the most sustainable materials on the planet with the natural light on board. The crew collaborated with La Maison Oscar Ono to design the wood flooring.
EDEN
The 83m motor yacht Eden's interior design was produced by Njord by Bergman Design House. The team was able to harmonise the outside and inside in a serene, delicate, and beautiful manner.
Njord imagined a drop of water dropping onto the floor, creating a ripple effect throughout the yacht's surfaces. This was the inspiration for both the wood flooring, which had a circular pattern of varying shades of dark to light, and the water-cut marble table in the main salon.
To meet the client's desire for the purest air possible throughout Eden, Njord includes an extended spa experience aboard, complete with UV-treated high-pressure water and an infrared sauna. A salt room that cleanses the air was created with a view just above the Sanctuary room's waves.
Njord by Bergman Design House created a new version of the Smart Glass product for the boat that adjusts the transparency of sunset colours from entirely transparent to completely opaque. Colors emerge from the top of the glass, which acts as a shade, and when additional voltage is added, the colours spread down the glass until it is completely opaque in the desired colour. To give the area aboard Eden an appearance of "height," the whole main saloon was constructed with a ripple effect reflecting ceiling that mimics the ocean. The barrier between the ceiling and double ceiling seems to disintegrate in conjunction with the opening to the level above.
