Phillips Presents UNTAPP3D FUTURE in Singapore, a Pop-Up Exhibition of Brett Crawford's Work Concurrent with ART SG

Phillips is pleased to present UNTAPP3D FUTURE in Singapore, a pop-up exhibition of works by Southern California artist Brett Crawford. The exhibition will coincide with the debut of ART SG, the largest art exhibition in the history of Southeast Asia, on 11 January 2023 at the Mandala Club.

Brett Crawford is a multidisciplinary artist whose works include painting, sculpture, design, and street murals; each of his creations represents a cultural interchange between art, fashion, and street culture. Playing with fairy tale images and bizarre settings, Crawford's paintings are loaded with pop allusions and current iconography that encourage the observer to search for hidden secrets inside.

We eagerly anticipate showcasing the works of this multitalented artist to a new audience in Singapore and Southeast Asia."

Brett Crawford said,

"I am ecstatic to be collaborating with Phillips to exhibit my work in Asia for the first time, and I am happy to have my art reach a larger audience. I would want to be remembered for the community service I provide, the art I create, and the lives I touch. The concept of Pinocchio's yearning to become a genuine boy resonates strongly with me. I have written a new Pinocchio coming-of-age tale. I wanted to know what happened to that courageous little kid, so I wrote a narrative about him as a young man in his twenties or thirties with a wife and three children. I'm excited to begin 2023 by meeting collectors and art enthusiasts from throughout Asia at the Singapore Art Week."

Crawford had a difficult upbringing and adolescence, but has since turned his life around to pursue a career in the arts that is currently on the rise. His paintings pay tribute to several pop culture and modern icons, ranging from Pinocchio to Nike shoes.

Highlights of the exhibition include 3DIFY, a graphite and acrylic on paper depicting a mentor instructing a student on how to be a kind, honest, and hardworking human being; EMPATH3TIC, a graphite, acrylic, and gold leaf on paper with the message of opening our hearts to understand the feelings of others; and BEN3VOLENT, a life-size wooden sculpture of a boy offering his heart, a self-portrait of the artist offering himself

On 11 January 2023, watches from Phillips' Le Concours de Complexité: Single Owner Online Auction devoted to F.P. Journe timepieces and exquisite jewellery by Singapore-born designer Lauren Khoo presented by Phillips Jewels will also be on display at the Mandala Club.
