At the Seoul E-Prix on August 13 and 14, the last round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the two Porsche 99X Electric race cars will have a brand-new and special livery design.
Porsche and TAG Heuer are celebrating the launch of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 - Porsche Edition. On Thursday, the first collaborative wristwatch of the sports car maker and the Swiss luxury watch company, who have been working together since 2014, was unveiled in Seoul. The new look of the Porsche 99X Electric was built particularly for the Formula E races in the capital of South Korea and debuted at an event at the SJ Kunsthalle in the hip neighbourhood of Chengdam-dong. The body of the unique electric racing vehicle from Weissach, which won its maiden Formula E race of the season in Mexico City, has the same blue and black hues as the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition.
Two world premieres were held in Seoul.
"Two global premieres are celebrated by Porsche and TAG Heuer in Seoul. One is the new Connected Watch, a collaborative effort, and the other is the first Formula E race in South Korea, according to Carlo Wiggers, Director of Team Management and Business Relations. "In order to honour these wonderful accomplishments, we've chosen to campaign our two Porsche 99X Electric racers at the season finale with an unique livery representing the new watch."
George Ciz, Chief Marketing Officer of TAG Heuer, said, "We are thrilled to be in Seoul with our close partner Porsche to celebrate the debut of the first and highly anticipated TAG Heuer Connected Porsche Edition." "And what better time than the first E-Prix weekend in Seoul to witness our shared principles and objectives about technology, design, performance, accuracy, and connection come to life on and off the track?"
The icy blue variant of the all-electric Porsche Taycan inspired the enticingly chilly colour scheme of the first premium wristwatch created by TAG Heuer and Porsche. The geometric aspects of the design emphasise pit boards, speed, and progress while drawing attention to the fascinating lights of Seoul, where the Formula E season finale will be held.
