Porsche and Pixar Animation Studios Unveil the One-Off 911 Sally Special

Porsche and Pixar Animation Studios have introduced a one-of-a-kind Porsche inspired by one of the most popular 911s: Sally Carrera from Disney and Pixar's animated feature Cars. RM Sotheby's will auction off the 911 Sally Special on Saturday, August 20, 2022, as part of Monterey Car Week in California. The revenues of the auction will be given to two charity. A percentage of the revenues will be donated to Girls Inc. for the benefit of young women. The second component will be sent to the United States for UNHCR, an agency that assists Ukrainian refugees

Jay Ward, Creative Director of Franchise at Pixar Animation Studios, and Bob Pauley, the Production Designer who first developed Sally Carrera for the Cars feature, joined the project's crew in November of last year. They were aided by Sonderwunsch team members at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in Stuttgart and Style Porsche designers in Weissach.

The 911 Sally Special derives from the 911 Carrera GTS. The automobile is equipped with a manual transmission and hand-applied Sallybluemetallic paint that was created exclusively for this project. Porsche designers in Weissach reworked the Turbo-looking rims of the Sally Carrera for the 911 Sally Special. The 'five-arm design' rim was fitted to the 20-/21-inch wheel measurements of the latest 911 series and visually connects Sally Carrera to the 911 Type 996.

Daniela Miloevi, a Porsche interior designer, led the team that collaborated with Pixar to develop the new blue hue and the vehicle's interior. Sallybluemetallic is utilised in the inside with a three-toned upholstery made from a custom Pepita houndstooth fabric, mixed with chalk-colored leather and Speed Blue stitching.

In addition to the 911 Sally Special, the auction also features a special Porsche Design chronograph. The watch was designed in partnership with Pixar and contains a Sallybluemetallic coloured ring. The chalk-colored leather strap with Speed Blue stitching highlights the timepiece's athletic appearance. The strap may be switched out with a second strap in Speed Blue with chalk-colored stitching fast and effortlessly. The unique timepiece is driven by a Porsche Design WERK 01.100 movement that is COSC-certified. Porsche's timepiece plant in Solothurn, Switzerland, was responsible for the design and production of the 911 Sally Special Chronograph.

In addition, the auction will include a unique indoor vehicle cover from Porsche Tequipment, a wheel rack with an extra set of Carrera Exclusive Design wheels, a book on the creation and construction of the one-off model, and original sketches by designers Shuichi Yamashita and Bob Pauley.
