QUAD by Saaksha & Kinni is a Playful Collection of Menswear Inspired by The Rhombus

QUAD by SAAKSHA & KINNI | RESORT WEAR'22

In the Spring-Summer of 2022, Saaksha and Kinni deliver a lively range of menswear, drapes and acid-washed denim fabrics inspired by the rhombus. This mathematical form that plays with angles and sides retains cultural importance in Gujarati craft tradition, where the rhombus motif is visible in paintings, prints and patterns.

In Saaksha and Kinni’s ‘Quad’, the rhombus contains apparel that connects creativity and pleasure to relaxed luxury, with a delightful mouthful of artisan tradition in flamboyant resort wear.

This collection highlights sophisticated Gujarati and Rajasthani mirror and thread handwork incorporating patchwork diamonds on denim and unique micro pleated handwork.

Alternating between prints and patchwork patterns, the diamond/rhombus forms come alive in rich pinks, greys and greens on feminine chiffons and satin materials. Focussing on resort clothing the collection offers dresses, sari dresses and skirts perfect for that joyful cocktail evening or destination wedding. The designers have put a flourish of frills and draperies on new designs including bodysuits, dresses with sleeves and variants in trousers.

The collection also debuts the label’s first male offering that contains shirts, trousers and jackets matching the women’s apparel with a feeling of comfortable elegance.

Saaksha Bhat of Saaksha & Kinni says,

“We’ve always toyed with gender in silhouette and a male collection falls perfectly into the rhombus’ inherent capabilities of breaking away from right angle restrictions.
Menswear is typically meant as being so serious, that it was a delight to put together this curation of shirts, trousers and jackets for guys who violate the rules a little bit”.

‘Quad’ is loaded with Saaksha and Kinni’s flirting of masculine and femininity, combining both into one collection. In this collection, the frills and denim materials provide a macho force to the outfits that are countered by feminine chiffons and cotton silks.
