Six Senses Zighy Bay
Oman, Musandam Peninsula
Tucked away in Oman's spectacular Musandam Peninsula, where mountains plunge into thriving crystal clear waters throughout a grainy sand beach, the countryside resort in Oman offers a wide range of villas, suites, and beachfront resorts, each with a private pool, conventional summer house, and the time and space to reconnect with yourself. There is plenty to do, including varied dining with a mix of local and foreign cuisine, an award-winning spa, and an array of unique activities. This is indeed a unique luxury resort in Oman.
Renovations to the three-bedroom Retreats and premium four-bedroom Private Reserve at Six Senses Zighy Bay Oman are complete, making them ideal for multigenerational family holidays, retreats with friends, or a truly private hideaway. Each amazing castle combines luxury, solitude, and an abundance of space with a touch of Arabian culture, all within a stone's throw of the Gulf of Oman.
The Private Reserve is a four-bedroom home located at the point of Zighy Bay between the calm Musandam Mountains and the green sea. It has a kitchen, a giant living and dining area, and a leisure room with an immense pool table, a private bar, and a cinema. At 32,292 square feet (3,000 square metres), it is the biggest of its type in the Middle East.
Within the property's enclave, it has four different villas that serve as bedrooms — each with an ensuite indoor and outdoor shower. The front of the home is graced with an expansive infinity pool with a vista that spans all the way over the bay. When a nanny or other committed host is necessary, the Private Reserve includes private quarters.
The Retreats were converted from Omani-style villas with two to three bedrooms and are placed on each end of the beach. The villas, which measure 12,077 square feet (1,122 square metres), feature ample social spaces, including a lounge, dining area with a private bar, indoor and outdoor living areas, and an infinity-edge pool with beachfront sunbeds, making it the ideal villa for special family reunions, celebrations with friends, or simply a weekend getaway in the company of one's own.
Inspired by the natural beauty of Zighy Bay, the interiors include complex palm leaf and wicker motifs. Each of the three homes has been stylishly furnished with furniture imported from South Africa, Lebanon, India, and the United Arab Emirates, giving them a contemporary twist on their rustic style.
Each component, from handmade textiles for cushions and throws to rugs and wall decorations, was selected by the team to contribute to the room's warmth.
"The resort is dedicated to quiet, authenticity, and spending quality time with family and friends in a private setting. Our design team has worked diligently to make the restored villas into a home away from home for our guests, and we look forward to aiding them in creating lifelong memories"
General Manager of Six Senses Zighy Bay, Andrew Spearman.
"Our out-of-the-ordinary customised experiences appeal to visitors of all ages,"
he said.
There is something for everyone, from our children's and adolescents' club to an exciting microlight flight, a stunning sunset picnic in the nearby mountains, or a wellness treatment at our Six Senses Spa. In each villa, a private chef may prepare a feast for the whole group using items collected from our Dibba farm and organic garden, which visitors can visit during their stay."
Expectations are set high, as a stay in The Private Reserve or one of the Retreats is enhanced by a paraglide arrival experience, one of the numerous features included with each booking. Additionally, guests will enjoy an exclusive private sunset cruise around the Gulf of Oman, a private in-villa BBQ prepared by the resort's award-winning culinary staff, and a fitness or yoga session with a personal teacher. After all that connection, visitors may reconnect with themselves during a 60-minute Six Senses Signature massage, which concludes the full Six Senses Zighy Bay experience.
On the sustainability front, the villas are available for booking at a carbon-neutral cost, with USD 10 from each room night booked going toward the Ay Yldz Wind Power Project in Balkesir, Turkey. The project creates sustainable electricity using wind energy and feeds it back into the Turkish national grid, therefore contributing to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions by reducing CO2 emissions associated with fossil fuel power plant electricity production.
