March 2022: Hukuru Ufaa, which translates as Friday Happiness in Dhivehi, is an energising art and craft extravaganza that unfolds beneath starry twilight skies, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the passionate stories of local artisans, soak up enchanting musical performances, and immerse themselves in an elegant cultural experience that is uniquely Maldivian.

With the evocative 'Hukuru Ufaa' - released in March 2022 – OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI maintains true to its brand promise of producing a melange of unique experiences steeped in indigenous culture.

Hukuru Ufaa provides a realistic look into Maldivian life. Each week on Friday evening, the resort invites three different artisans to participate in the beautiful island market, which is set against the background of breathtaking sunset colours.

Indulgent bohemian vibes are evoked by tranquil poolside settings, appealing displays of delicate jewellery, handloom, and handicraft, and free-flowing chats with local artists. Throughout the encounter, traditional elements are emphasised. The OZAR poolside deck and beach are transformed with Dhoni-shaped display platforms and food stations modelled like Badhiges (traditional Maldivian cooks).

Guests may have genuine Maldivian, Indian, and Sri Lankan aperitifs while strolling around the gallery and admiring the enchanted art exhibits. At the centre of this gastronomic journey is a Maldivian meal, a fresh one picked, prepared, and presented each week by a local chef.

At a live station, tourists may discover a variety of crafts, whether it's a potter at work, a jewellery designer at work, or a painter capturing the eternal lagoon vistas on canvas. 

Live musical performers breathe life into the regional flavours of culture. 

Additionally, Hukuru Ufaa is envisioned as a forum for established and upcoming Maldivian artists. It is their opportunity to demonstrate traditional artisanal skills, sell their wares directly to travellers, and discover the flexibility to refresh and improve their trade on a continuous basis.
