Rosewood Schloss Fuschl Austria To Commence Around End of 2023

The iconic Hotel Schloss Fuschl in Austria will reopen in late 2023 under the management of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. Arabella Hospitality, a subsidiary of Schorghuber Corporate Group, hired Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

The ultra-luxurious, historic lakeside resort in Austria continues Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' strategic expansion throughout Europe.

The regal, ancient residence evocative of a storybook castle is idyllically located on the shores of Lake Fuschl and has welcomed renowned visitors for generations. The new resort will be Rosewood's second property in Austria, after the recent launch of Rosewood Vienna, and will contribute to the brand's substantial growth pipeline in Europe and the German-speaking market.

The redesign of this 15th-century relic not only adds to Rosewood's exclusive portfolio of ultra-luxury hotels and resorts, but also solidifies the brand's reputation as a careful and conscientious steward of some of the world's most renowned historic structures. From Paris to Madrid, New York to London and beyond, landmark buildings have been restored to their former splendour and repositioned to write new and unique chapters in their histories.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl is located on the banks of turquoise-blue Lake Fuschl, surrounded by mountains and woods, and is just a short distance from Salzburg, a city renowned for its history, culture, music, and more.

Beginning in 2022, the whole makeover will upgrade the building and grounds to provide 98 well-appointed bedrooms, 46 suites, and six chalets. Rosewood Schloss Fuschl will also contain Asaya, Rosewood's integrated well-being concept, with eight treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a fitness facility.

The original construction of Hotel Schloss Fuschl dates back to 1450, when it was established as a castle to serve as a rural retreat for Austrian monarchy. It was first utilised as a hotel in 1954. Throughout its legendary history, the resort has been lauded as an elegant, serene refuge for discriminating tourists, ranging from Hollywood celebrities to international leaders. Through antiquity, its shape has been identified with the majesty and splendour of elegance.

This is the second cooperation between Arabella Hospitality and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts; the firms are presently collaborating on the launch of Rosewood Munich. In accordance with Rosewood's A Sense of Place® guiding idea, the two parties are dedicated to preserving Rosewood Schloss Fuschl's rich history while updating the resort experience.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl is the most recent property to be announced by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, joining a robust pipeline of projects scheduled to launch in Europe over the next several years in Amsterdam, Munich, Rome, London, and Venice. Rosewood Schloss Fuschl will be added to the brand's current collection of hotels and resorts in Europe, which includes Rosewood Vienna, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel in Paris, Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid, and Rosewood London.
