H.Moser & Cie. of Schaffhausen, Switzerland, unveiled the Pioneer Cylinder Tourbillon Skeleton skeleton model demonstrating the Manufacture's revolutionary approach to their cylindrical tourbillon mechanism. The watch includes a slightly domed sapphire crystal, a Globolight®-enhanced subdial, and a one-minute flying tourbillon with a cylindrical hairspring.
The HMC 811 Manufacture calibre is fitted with a 60-second flying tourbillon and a precision-shaped cylindrical hairspring from Precision Engineering AG. This totally skeletonized 34 mm diameter movement accentuates the "balletic dance" of the one-minute flying tourbillon, which is furnished with a cylindrical hairspring at 6 o'clock.
The domed sub-dial mirrors the curvature of the sapphire crystal and contributes to the piece's three-dimensionality. It is finished in the watchmaker's characteristic Funky Blue fumé with Globolight indices at 12 o'clock.
Both the front and back of this seletom variant contain a gold rotor that is totally open.
The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton model is shown on a black alligator leather strap, but it is also available on steel, rubber, textile, or kudu leather straps. Despite its commanding but exquisite design, this striking item is quite wearable due to its 15.3 mm thickness.
The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton marks a watershed moment for H. Moser & Cie., as the brand joins the skeleton watch category and establishes its own standards for this style of watchmaking.
