The Arts Trust Commemorates Bikash Bhattacharjee, One of India's Finest Painters, For His Masterpieces From 1950 to 2000

Bikash Bhattacharjee, one of the best painters to come from India, was recognised for restoring realism via his brilliant oil paintings and expressing the hopes, anxieties, and dualities of the Bengali people in his art. His artistic development proceeded along with his continual participation in the finding of his characters.

Respected for his ability to animate the emotions of his chosen subjects, he created an image for himself by communicating the empathy he felt for them via intricate technical techniques.

The selection of works in the first volume of the show spans Bikash Bhattacharjee's art practise from 1950 to 2000 and provides an insightful look at his development in terms of medium, subject matter, and influences. The show provides a wonderful chance for art enthusiasts to examine the arc of the artist's career via pieces from all eras, including his first efforts. The show features paintings from a variety of his revolutionary series, including the 'She,' 'Doll,' and 'Durga' series, among others.
