Gucci's newest Osteria restaurant in Seoul is set to debut on 28 March, 2022 in the vibrant Itaewon neighbourhood. Reservations are now open for an unequalled fine-dining experience that will leave you spell bound indeed.
The fourth Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura restaurant is located on the top floor of the new Gucci Gaok (Gucci Traditional Home) flagship store in Itaewon. Gucci Osteria Seoul is all set to get in live action from 28 March onwards and will serve lunch, supper, and aperitivo.
Located in an area noted for its vibrant cosmopolitan eating and entertainment, the establishment's debut coincides with the opening of more VTLs.
The acclaimed fine-dining experience, led by chef Massimo Bottura, an avant-garde maestro of Italian food, premiered at the Gucci Garden in Florence, Italy, in 2018 and was granted a Michelin star. Since then, locations in Beverly Hills, California in 2020 and Ginza, Tokyo last year have been added.
The Seoul flagship opened in May, 2021 to commemorate Gucci's centenary. Each restaurant's menu is tailored to the local culinary scene, and as predicted, the Itaewon location will include Korean reinterpretations and foods that appeal to the Korean taste. Additionally, iconic Gucci Osteria delicacies such as the Emilia Burger and Tortellini with Parmigiano Reggiano Cream will be offered. Additionally, there is a large range of drinks and a wine list with over 200 selections.
Bottura collaborated with Michelin-starred chef Karime Lopez, Seoul executive chef Hyungkyu Jun, and head chef Davide Cardellini on the cuisine for the Korean outlet. According to Bottura,
"there is an unseen thread that runs through each of the Gucci Osteria worldwide: one that connects Italian cuisine with the food and products of other great global cuisines." As with Italy, Korea views food as an integral element of its culture, and I'm thrilled to welcome everyone to our Seoul location."
Regarding the interiors, Gucci Osteria Seoul will be styled similarly to the Florence location, with nods to the Italian Renaissance and Gucci's all-encompassing design. From the Georgian-era terrace to the wooden panelling in the main dining room, guests will be greeted with Gucci's signature green. The former, located on the outside terrace, includes a vibrant marble mosaic and 36 seats, while the latter, located indoors, has 28 seats and is furnished with blue velvet chairs and ebonised tables. A private dining area for up to eight guests is concealed behind stained-glass doors, complete with antique mirrors and flowery wallpaper from the Gucci Décor home line.
Gucci Osteria Seoul da Massimo Bottura is situated in Seoul, South Korea at 223 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu. It is open everyday from 11.30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for lunch and from 6 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for dinner. Simply log on to gucciosteria.com and confirm your reservations.
