The Imperial Treasures Auction by AstaGuru is a Commemoration of World History and Culture.

The upcoming 'Imperial Treasures' auction by AstaGuru will feature an extraordinary assemblage of antiques and rare collectibles, primarily from 19th and 20th century India, China, Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

The collection of ceramics, furniture, crystal chandeliers, fine silver, vintage timepieces, and other decorative items is a tribute to the diverse cultures' rich design aesthetics and traditions. The scheduled auction dates are August 12-13, 2023.

Regarding the auction, Rushaad Dastur, Auction Specialist at AstaGuru Auction House, stated:

Lot no. 41 is an exquisite antique gold hookah base embellished with table-cut diamonds, rose-cut diamonds, and rubies within foiled surrounds. The base of the hookah was embellished with applied openwork botch scrolls and foliate panels. It is estimated to cost between 1,800,000 and 2,200,000 Indian rupees.

In the auction, an elegant collection of glass and crystal chandeliers, as well as other light fixtures by renowned brands such as F. & C. Osler, Baccarat, René Lalique, and Murano, will be on display.Lot no. 4 is a ten-light tent and waterfall Victorian chandelier by F. & C. Osler, featuring an iconic tent and waterfall design.Executed circa 1850, it is estimated to fetch INR 10,000,000 – 12,00,000 at auction.

Lot 26 is a spectacular Murano glass floral chandelierMurano, an island in Venice, Italy, has been home to some of the greatest glassblowers in history for centuries, and is regarded by many as the most influential centre for glassmaking.

The majority of the proposed lot consists of Venetian colour glass flowers terminating in a large receiver basin embellished with a bouquet of flowers.The chandelier is exceptional due to its broad receiver basin and stylized Murano glass limbs.It is priced between INR 60,000,000 and INR 80,000,000.

In addition, the auction will feature an extraordinary assortment of opulent antique timepieces. Lot 20 is a magnificent white onyx and gilded bronze pedestal clock designed in the neoclassical style. The front of the clock unfolds to reveal three tiers, with ormolu arched frameworks adorning the sides of the clock. This parcel is estimated to be worth between 40,000 and 60,000 INR.

Another exceptional timepiece, lot number 37, is a large French Boulle clock named after the renowned French cabinetmaker and artist André-Charles Boulle. The sides and feet, front, and top of the clock are adorned with ormolu mounts that feature an ornate foliate pattern. It is estimated that it will cost between 14,000 and 20,000 INR to acquire.

The auction also features a scrupulously curated selection of vintage silver, with each piece embodying an illustrious past and artistic brilliance.

Lot no. 35 is a large silver Art Deco trophy with two eagle-topped handles and a tapering design. It is estimated to cost between INR 20,000,000 and INR 25,000,000 to acquire the 1920s-era work.

An additional highlight of the auction is an exquisite pair of large marble lions fashioned in 1925 in the style of the great Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova. Inspired by Canova's plaster models, which were presented to the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Venice in 1840, the pair of marble lions are depicted as regal guardians with flowing manes, muscular bodies, and intense gazes. This batch is anticipated to sell for 40,000–60,000 INR.

In addition, the auction will feature an exceptional assortment of antique ceramics with intricate designs. Large Capodimonte vase from Naples, lot number 5.  The figure's body depicts a lush forest landscape with individuals at work. On the base of every handle are two faces. This property is estimated to cost between INR 8,000,000 and INR 10,000,000.

Lot no. 8 is an uncommon double-gourd Satsuma vase in gold, scarlet, and blue, with multiple panels depicting noblemen. It is estimated that it will sell for 10,000 to 12,000 Indian Rupees (INR).
