The International Apparel Federation (IAF) To Have Cem Altan As Its Latest President

Cem Altan from Turkey has been without exception chosen to don the role of the next President of the International Apparel Federation. This decision was taken in the general assembly of International Apparel Federation members on 19th May 2021.
As per this decision, the 36th IAF Convention which will be conducted from November 6 to 9, 2021 in Antwerp, Belgium, the present IAF President Han Bekke will step down and pass over the responsibility of IAF presidency to Cem Altan.
Mr. Bekke who has been the IAF president for four years will stay on the IAF Executive Committee as immediate past president.
More About Cem
A man with a huge experience in the textile industry, Cem Altan is the founder of Aycem Textiles, an Istanbul based company and has been a member of the IAF Board of Directors for more than 7 years starting from 2014. Armed with a textile technology degree from Nottingham Trent University in the UK, Cem is an experienced manufacturer with an international perspective.
He also holds important positions including that of a Board of Director at Istanbul Apparel Exporters Association (IHKIB) and of the Turkish Clothing Manufacturers Association (TCMA). His main role is that of handling international affairs in both the boards and this makes him a person with a very strong international experience textile industry.
In the boards of both associations, he is tasked with international affairs and therefore he has a strong experience in industry representation on an international level. He also happens to be the head of Istanbul Fashion Week and Koza Young Designers.
