The New Luxury Resort Announced by Mandarin Oriental in Mallorca, Spain Will Be Spectacular

New Luxury Resort by Mandarin Oriental at Mallorca, Spain

Hong Kong, January 2023

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will operate a new beach resort in one of the most desirable sites on the Spanish island of Mallorca, set to open in the second half of 2024.

The new premium resort is being planned by Spanish-based Blasson Property Investments and includes a considerable restoration and redesign of the existing H10 Punta Negra hotel, which is located on an iconic peninsula on the Costa d'en Blanes in the island's southwest. After the renovations are complete, the hotel's name will be changed to Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca.

The resort has 3 hectares of planted cliff tops and gardens falling down to the sea, where it provides exclusive access to two bays surrounded by pristine waves. The house is beautifully situated in Calvià, one of the island's most exclusive towns, and is near to significant attractions such as the Portals port, the historical sites of the capital Palma de Mallorca, and the international airport.

Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca will contain 131 bedrooms, including 44 suites and nine beachfront cottages. The enormous accommodations will provide partial or whole views of the ocean, outside patios or balconies, and some will have private panoramic plunge pools.

Local and foreign restaurants will provide a variety of cuisines, making it a destination for both residents and tourists. Indoor and outdoor event facilities, including a garden suitable for wedding festivities, will offer a stylish background for meetings and social events.

A complete Spa at Mandarin Oriental will provide the Group's hallmark wellness therapies and beauty treatments, with an emphasis on locally-inspired nature-based programmes. The spa has an indoor swimming pool, and the resort features three outdoor pools. In addition, guests will have access to a variety of watersports and a comprehensive Children's Club.

The new modern design of the resort is being developed by HKS, Estudio Lamela, an award-winning Spanish architectural firm with excellent ecological credentials, while award-winning designer Laura Gonzalez is in charge of the interior design, which has numerous local cultural allusions.

James Riley, Group Chief Executive Officer of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, stated,
"We are thrilled to bring our legendary service to this extraordinary beachfront resort in the Balearics, and we look forward to collaborating with Blasson Property Investments to develop a luxury hotel with a strong commitment to sustainability. Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca will be a welcome addition to our hotels in Barcelona and Madrid, and we are ecstatic to be extending Mandarin Oriental's footprint in yet another significant European leisure destination."
"We are happy to work with one of the most prominent names in luxury hospitality on this exciting project, which will provide guests with an exceptional luxury resort where they can unwind in comfort and experience the legendary service of Mandarin Oriental. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build a new hotel in such an iconic position on the lovely island of Mallorca",
according to Francisco J. Meliá of Blasson Property Investments.

Mallorca, the biggest island in the Balearics, has a temperate climate with pleasant summers and mild winters. The island is renowned for its stunning beaches, natural parks, and rugged terrain.
